No offence to the Ukraine but of course I'd rather take a country that I have some connection with :)
Germany, Turkey or England would be great too, but let's see what's left over as people come on board.

I'll put you down for Turkey then? :)

Obviously, I don't know if everyone will be taking part last year can do it this year, but we usually have someone who takes Armenia. How about Ukraine?

I generally take Denmark, but if it's a issue of adopting a country no one wants to play with, I'd be happy to represent Ukraine this year. (It doesn't look like I'll be tempted to give it points anyway...)

Well, I'm not down to desperately pleading for people to take part (yet  ), but if you'd like to switch this year to Ukraine you are more than welcome. Or stay with Denmark whichever you prefer. ;)

How about just reserving an open spot for me for now? It would by default be Denmark, but should any pureblood Dane (or anyone more willing to be Denmark than Ukraine for that matter) surface, I’d be more than happy to free my place and to represent whomever.

You can count me in, too and I'd take Macedonia, as last year, if it's still available...:) I am willing to switch though, if there is anyone who desperately wants to represent FYROM. :P

If it’s any help, I’m a rude “Merikan and I always take Bulgaria. I have NO connections there whatsoever. :) I just find ESC a whole lot of voidy fun that one cannot find in the States.

Voidy fun indeed...I inherited this guilty pleasure as my parents used to always have people round to watch it. And I remember all the children sitting together with pen and paper making snarky notes about each entry so we could remember who was who when the voting started; have been watching it ever since and am quite amused by the fact that there is a dedicated thread for it on here

I'll put you down for Turkey then? :)

Great, thanks! :)

Zdob si Zdub rocks! :)
Estonia is so-so, the same for Serbia.

Denmark is a huge disappointment, not to mention both songs about angels. They'd better stay in disguise...:shuffle:

Estonia - "Rockefeller Street" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joFgQIywwX8) by Getter JaaniActually quite catchy. May do pretty well

Denmark - "New Tomorrow" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-Ghz1Fml28) by A Friend In LondonAlso should place well. The very beginning doesn’t have much promise, but it improves some.

Latvia - "Angel In Disguise" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aN83DUSChM) by MusiqqNah.

Moldova - "So Lucky" by Zdob si Zdub (represented Moldova in 2005)no linky

Serbia - "Caroban" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSgbqJqh7ZE) by NinaLawsey. I lived through the 60s once. That was enough.

Ukraine - "Angel" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qegQDzF7YGw) by Mika NewtonLooks like some producer’s girlfriend got a favour. Too bad she can’t sing.

PS: Got it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUJgYjNn5Zs , prefer their Grandma-performance, but still ... uhmmm ... refreshingly weird ...

Hanna, are you able to take Finland this year? (I´ll PM you...) If not, I can be Finland. If Hanna is Finland, I´d love to be Iceland, as two times before.

Thanks for waking me up regarding Eurovision!! I of course want to participate again, and any country will do. ;) Finland is fine. Any other participant that will suck with 100% probability is fine too... :P
