It's not too bad if you focus on the backing dancers. :grope:

Okay, it wasn't that great, either! But it is nothing compared to this hot mess (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQoEXffNMWY). :slinkaway

I listened to Magni and the winning song and I still think Johanna should have won :P. maybe it's better for me not to understand the lyrics but I assume it's sugarloaded. but at least I was able to hum the melody after one listening only :).

!

I think Johanna had a lot more support outside of Iceland than she did in it. The comments I read on fb and some youtube videos seem to support that foreigners are still infatuated with the girl in blue who came in second whereas more Icelanders didn't like the song and were not disappointed she didn't win.

The song that did win ironically has the phrase I would translate as "life is too short so make the most of it". Ironic because the guy who was supposed to sing it died three weeks ago.

Not a popular choice according the foreign opinions I read but I hope it makes it through to the final simply because we have a nice big deck now and I really want to hold a big Eurovision party on a weekend with all the ex-pats here. These parties are a lot more fun when you have a dog in the race.:D

Yup. Nothing like being able to :drama: and :wuzrobbed with everybody else.

RTE must be rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of the viewing figures for our semi-final, at least.

MikiAndoFan, you beat me to it! :P
here's the winning performance of Magda (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrCLhva9Bks). she sang first in the national final and overcame the curse of not winning while singing at the very beginning :). another song highly inspired by Juliana Pasha, so it seems...
anyway, the level of the Polish preselections was terribly low and majority of these songs should've been sent directly into the dustbin.
my personal rotfl of the evening (equally  and :scream:): Alizma (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jLbrVhBwvI), the Polish triplets who seemingly reached some fame in the US after their performance in America's Got Talent.

waiting for the rest of the countries...

Finally, "we'"ve found THE song for Lena, and in the end it was no real surprise, it was a favourite right from the begin. Actually, I enjoyed it, it's quite straight forward and has drive, apart from it I've seen/heard worse so far. Of course I believe it's almost impossible to win again. However, here's "Taken by a stranger" by Lena for Germany:

(Not the final, "winning" performance yet, this one is from the semi-final ...)

Thoughts???
