Hi!

I've written an article (in german) about the relation between poets (Goethe, Klopstock...) and other artists and figure skating. I've included not only a link to Toller Cranstons SP and FS '74 (Munich), but also a cartoon ("Peanuts"), where Peppermint Patty is skating a whole FS :)

Have fun!

This thread made me think of Sir Henry Raeburn's painting of Reverend Robert Walker (1755 - 1808) Skating on Duddingston Loch (http://www.nationalgalleries.org/collection/online_az/4:322/result/0/5327?initial=R&artistId=4399&artistName=Sir%20Henry%20Raeburn&submit=1). :)

Ah, the Little Ice Age (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Ice_Age), when it was actually possible to skate (http://www.flickr.com/photos/castlekay/840421890/) on Duddingston Loch (http://www.edinburghbrand.com/images_and_logos/landscapes/duddingston_loch,_edinburgh.aspx?pg=1&cat=4644) in the winter! :cold:

Joni Mitchell is also a figure skating fan, she is a singer (duh) and an acomplished painter also. In fact she used Toller on the cover of her 1976 album Hejira.
