Well, if it P!$$E$ PETA off, it can't be that bad! I just hope there was some bacon and haggis among her, er, wardrobe.

Untrue. Madge has been on many "Worst Dressed" lists .

I don't think Madonna was ever willingly 'worst dressed' though. She just didn't dress well at one time.

Oh so clever Gaga, "beef drapery/curtains", we get it.

The Jackass guys did this in the 90s, and better. Not only did they have a meat suit, but they put themselves over a barbecue pit (there was a flame-retardant suit underneath) and ate the results after.

Too bad we can't put Gaga on a spit and stick a fork in her because she's pretty much done. :EVILLE:

Not quite. We have to see what comes out of her next CD to determine if she's done or not.

OT but related to Lady Gaga-

She chose 4 Gay soldiers to escort her to the VMAs yesterday. Nice gesture. I like to see entertainment figures bring current issues to the attention of all.

I think she needs to step back from the spotlight before she oversaturates the media and everyone gets tired of her. Let us salivate for a while over the pending release of an upcoming album/film or something.

I think it's a few months too late for that - she should have laid low after the release of the "Telephone" video.

At this point, there is SO much hype around her that there is no way that her next album is going to live up to the expectations.

Yes, every generation of adolescents has a figure like this. They find the mediocre music and "shocking" behavior exciting. It is normal development for adolescents to try on new identities (costumes) and consider issues of sexual identity. To an adult, the racy costumes and pseudosexual behaviors are not much different than when a two year old discovers it is fun to pull off the clothes and run around naked.:encore: It gets old and boring real quick.
We get it. You hate pop culture.

Lady GaGa's inspirtion from Madonna is obvious, but if we're going to go into "derivative" territory, I think she's more like a whitewashed version of Peaches. Or maybe the love child of Peaches and Madonna

Of course, Madonna wasn't ever entirely original herself. :shuffle:

I don't buy into her hype, but it's hard to begrudge her for doing something pertinent like that. :encore: Even if I don't care for her or her music, I think she's being genuine when she supports LGBT rights.

Besides a million other things that have already been done, it's funny how people even think she's shocking or creative at all. Hullo, flip back to any episode of Donahue when he interviews Club Kids, there ya go - 100s of teenagers doing it better.

That's a comment on all her aesthetics.

The DADT soldier statement, however, ... I give her credit for using the platform she does happen to have.

For the risk of going OT in this thread, I really have to comment -

Absolutely right. Back in the 'True Blue' days [late 80s] I remember everyone thinking Madonna was shamelessly ripping off Marilyn Monroe's look.

Then, she was accused of seriously ripping off Marlene Dietrich's whole gender-bending sexual persona in her 'Blonde Ambition' days [1990]. I read in Christopher Anderson's bio 'Madonna Unauthorized' in 1991 [yeah, I read it :o ] that a 90 yr. old Marlene Dietrich had been asked about Madonna, and Dietrich replied "Her like me? HA!"

Here is a video of Lena Morgana, the girl who died and whos mother is saying Gaga stole her style of dress and music. I don't see it at all. She is very talented though. There are pictures of her dressed kind of punk rock, but it looks more Avril Lavigne than Gaga. Pretty song though and she has a great voice.

I think her mother is looking to make a quick buck off of their connection to gaga. Its actually a good idea. I bet a lot of people have downloaded her music now.

This is I guesss supposedly the song she did with gaga. Writing credits go to Gaga at the end of the video. It says Ft Lady gaga and I think that is her voice at the end?

Also I was just kind of reading about this online and people are accusing gaga of killing Lena LOL. There also apparently is no death record of her. This is actually very interesting.

I didn't get it other than to assume the obvious, that she guaranteed herself the morning headlines. It was only when I saw that she was on Ellen and heard her speak and apparently it has many meanings and that night (not sure if that is VMA night or Ellen interview night, or maybe those were the same night) it stands for

if we don't stand up for what we believe in, if we don't fight for our rights pretty soon we are going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M1mOlamBtU&feature=player_embedded

What the fcuk does that mean  Even Ellen looked confused.

But it's good to know she is the "most judgement free individual on earth", now I can stop waiting for the second coming of Christ.

I'll only pop in to say that a dress made of raw meat is gross, but only because it'd smell REALLY weird by the end of the night.

Gaga is pretty talented, and I admire her devotion to being outlandish, because to summon up the energy to keep it up 24/7 sounds exhausting.

Too late.

My "open letter" to Gaga...

Dear Lady,

We get it. You're a weirdo. You can stop now. Thank you.
