Gotta say, Law and Order LA kinda sucks.

They nailed the energy level of LA and that's the problem; there is no energy level - everything is just too laid back, especially for those of us who thrive on a NY vibe.

OT, but I also got to see the UK version of Law and order and it was really weird - the writing and pacing is totally the same as the original L&O, but with British slang. According to wikipedia, the contract for expanding L&O to the UK required them to rework 13 original series scripts for the first season. I think the show is on the 2nd season, so I don't know if this was one of those scripts, but it was quite eerie.

Oh, and the wigs in court were a hoot.

I've seen the episodes that have aired on BBCAmerica so far, and those all clearly give credit to the original scripts and writers.

That was my one criticism of LO-UK, that I remembered the plots from the original series. Hadn't realized it was a contractual obligation though. They did make some substantive changes, though -- in addition to the dialogue, they obviously reflect the differences in the British justice & police systems. And other details, like the fact that there are CCTV cameras on virtually every corner of London. The "good guys" also lose more often in the UK version -- more realistic that way.

The first 4 episodes I've seen so far of season 2 have also been based on original series plotlines, but I think they've made even more changes because I've remembered far less.

Happy about Hawaii Five-0. I am really enjoying the show. Love the scenery and Scott Caan.
Blue Bloods is not bad either, has potential.

I'm thankful for being able to watch international tv shows online. Has anyone watched An Idiot Abroad from the UK? I really can't believe that a human Homer Simpson really exists.

Here's an article from Yahoo, where they discuss which shows they believe will be cancelled, and why:

For those of you who missed the 3 part series "Sherlock" last month, it will be running on Sunday nights on Masterpiece Theatre starting this Sunday.

It's worth a look. Really.
