Both Weiber and Ohashi fell on bars.
(what is wrong with bars in the US, though? :scream: Weiber's competent, but not really pulling the big scores like the Chinese)

It's because none of the girls are really that great at pirouetting, which is how the Chinese rack up the big scores. The U.S. girls are great at releases and the big tricks, and they have relatively good form, but they need to add pirouetting combos in order to get higher SVs.

It's promising that Ohashi scored 13.7 with a fall, though. Too bad she's not old enough for London. :(

And she got 14.150 on beam despite another fall there as well.

10.3 on beam for Wieber  (fall, of course, no make that 3 falls :yikes:)

Vega with a great FX, it sounds:

Vega FX full in piked. 1.5 to double back stuck. 2.5 punch lay. Stays in by the skin on her teeth! Stuck double pike.
^14.350 (2nd highest so far)

UB - McKayla Maroney - Blind, giant, pike jaeger (full), pak salto, pirouette, clear hip, toe up, 2 giants, double back full twist - stuck

Ohashi FX 1.5 front double twist. Beautiful. Stuck full in piked. 2.5 punch tuck landed like Alyssa Beckerman at '00 trials
^14.250

I can't see Wieber competing tomorrow, especially if she's injured. :(

Maroney fell too...splatfest in this rotation. Kyla Ross score looks pretty untouchable at this point.

Oh this is quite a nightmare for Jordyn. Everyone was expecting her to win, and now she won't even be close to the podium at all. :(

I hope she recovers quickly. 0.000 for her on Floor - she has withdrawn.
