It doesn't matter, his skating skills are so awesome... it's to die for. It's even greater than Stephane's.

But I'm not an expert regarding the finer points of technique of figure skating. I watch for the emotional jag. Especially in a show vs a competition. That's why I love Johnny and Steph. I really don't care if they ever do any jumps. (Although Stephane MUST spin.)

And just to put in my 2 cents. Michelle forever!!!!

wow I've been totally clueless! then again I only started to heavily follow skating this year. no wonder why. I remember as a kid in the 90's skating was everywhere on tv for a few months of the year..
no worlds' though?

Worlds will be on Universal Sports, but that's a digital cable network (you can get it over the air in some cities though). No NBC coverage of that is planned as of yet- but I believe there will be internet coverage.

I would be disappointed if this only did as well as a typical disson show, this is sooo much better than most shows of the past

It may be disappointing to fans, but it's only realistic. Was there any significant promotion of this show? Maybe there might have been a few extra people due to Kwan's presence but she's no Tiger Woods as far as ratings go...

That too, but there probably isn't much overlap of audience, to be honest.

personally stephane > patrick for me :P

Seriously! Chan is nowhere near the showman nor the skater that Lambiel is.

Chan is one of my favorite!! He's the one who is flying and gliding on the ice and his unforeseeable falls and kicking a board always reaches the most interesting part of exhibition galas or ice shows. ;)

God!! please do not let him do them in competitions.

I totally agree! But you know the funny thing is, in the ATS LA keepsake program, Patrick is the one billed and described as the master showman who connects with audiences. I had to do a double take when I read that.

Yes, in broadcasting jargon, having figure skating go up against football or baseball is an example of counter-programming. It goes against convention wisdom but the thinking is it actually pays off by attracting a neglected audience bloc in the same timeslot.

 He may not be as eyecatching as Lambiel but he's a fantastic skater

.. and a good comic act too.

Agree. I never get tired of watching Patrick on the ice. His speed, edge controls, flows, and cuty smiles are just so amazing :swoon:
I hope he'd be on more shows...

Gah, I forgot to watch yesterday :( I haven't been in skating watching mode for a while when it came to the weekends. Thanks for the link to the youtubes, amaro :)

Btw, just wanted to thank Yu-Na for having such a great put together show. It was indeed refreshing and what figure skating needed :)

oh yeah,it's true ,but after seen the show,I think no one is greater than Lambiel either show or skater part:D

actrually,I think Chan is the one who did the best besides Lambiel and Yana&Kwan:encore:

and he's still young, after several years ,why not he will become another great showman, let's wait and see:hat1:
