I don't think Yu-na should go to Botiano. To bad though because Leaver might be a help.

But Lets not pretend that the Brians both got the same material to work with when it comes to Yu-na and Alissa. (In someways very opposite skaters) Yu-na was a great competitor, and great jumper before she worked with Orser. And Alissa already had ingrained horrific jumping technique and poor competition nerves. (way better spins/spirals and nice lines but still)

By the time Alissa went to Leaver and Botiano, I'm not sure what any coach could do to fix ingrained habits. And its not like they even got her full time, which is perhaps what it would have really taken. This being said of course just because Botiano was a great skater, doesn't mean he'd be a great coach. But lets not pretend that Yu-na wasn't a much easier job.

And that's not take away anything from Orser who is a tremendous coach.

I think that Yu-na training in LA makes sense right now given she has a show coming up, and she'll probably just move to wherever she finds a coach.

I meant no disrepect intended for Alissa. It was tongue in cheek about the one time heavy supporters now bashing Orser. I think Alissa is a beautiful skater wish she was included in the LA show...(even though I am not going). I agree Orser seemed to be a great manager and kept her nerves together and the Kim camp on the same page until the Olympics. Now seeing how many chiefs were in that camp it was a remarkable job it lasted that long. I think Yuna needs a good manager/coach that can keep all those chiefs on the same page. LA is a big place she may have more luck finding that person there.

The pics of the press conference showed an impressively fit Michelle! For a 30 year old woman in grad school full time....she must be so disciplined to work out everyday to keep that body! She is amazing!
Sounds like a great show and counldn't be more delighted that Johnny was included this time! :saint:

Wow, that's very expensive. :/

I doubt there will be a big audience.

Yeah, especially now that we know that it will be televised a few days later. Still, it will be nice to see Yu-Na live once again on U.S. ice. This is the show that should have been Stars on Ice last spring, IMO...led by the Ice Queen from the latest Olympics.

Oh my goodness. I'm just catching up to news. So Michelle might be Yu-Na's new coach? Holy smokes. I can see NBC milking this one all the way to Sochi! Maybe Michele can "pull an Orser" and finally win "her" Olympic Gold Medal via a student? For some reason, I smell the NBC Publicity Clowns -- the same ones who trotted out Sasha last season and ended up with egg on their faces...and the same ones who 'milked' the Kwan-Caroline Zhang thing a few seasons back -- behind this. That said, I would not not mind a YuNa-Michelle partnership in the least.

I'm sorry, but any news?

Oh my goodness. I'm just catching up to news. So Michelle might be Yu-Na's new coach? Holy smokes. I think that any "news" of Michelle coaching YuNa or anyone is really very strange -- and must either be wishful thinking on someone's part -- or else due to some sort of miscommunication or translation problem. (Or someone was puffing on some unholy "smokes".) Michelle has not given any indication whatsoever that she has a desire to pursue coaching in the near future -- in fact, quite the contrary.
