Not specifically about the Equus, but...

I think they are taking over the world at this point.

Why would anyone pay that much for Hyundai?

No. They're never going to be able to transcend their market position as a budget maker. Its just also basically not that impressive a car.

Nope. If money were no object then my dream car would be the Shelby (http://www.ford.ca/app/fo/en/cars/shelby_gt500.do#zip_popup)!

Not specifically about the Equus, but...

Hyundai Motor Co. said Wednesday it will guarantee the trade-in price of new cars sold in the U.S. starting May 1.

Analysts said it's the first time an auto company has made such a guarantee. While the program probably won't cost Hyundai much, it will likely increase the number of return customers to the brand, since buyers can only apply the trade-in value to a new Hyundai.

The company will guarantee the value of a car that's traded in after two, three or four years.

Subaru does something similar. If I trade my Subie for another one, I get a minimum trade in value at any Subie dealer. I'm on my 2nd one (first one was totaled), I'm in love with the brand. :) Drove a new Sonata while car shopping, but it felt cheap and plastic inside.

LABEL SNOBBERY
1. Porsche
2. Mercedes-Benz
3. BMW
4. Jag
5. Audi
6. Lexus
7. Hyundai

I would have put Audi and Lexus above Jag, which for many years was thought of as a nearly failed brand re-badged by Ford. Their compact car was no more than a ovoid Ford Tempo, how could one possibly be snobby in that?:o

I would have put BMW ahead of Mercedes too, I think Porsche and exotic cars aside, every high-end luxury manufacturer aspires to be BMW.

And what about Infiniti, they have a brand new Q out, yet wuzrobbed of even a mention.

Poor Hyundai, it gives so much and is so dependable, yet it gets no respect at the bottom , if Rachael Flatt were a luxury car, she'd be East of Equus. .
