Tim Gunn's video in re: the recent gay suicides, with a pretty shocking revelation....(ok, this is majorly off topic, but I figured PR fans would be interested)

Wow, just wow. I have admired Tim Gunn for several years now. But, the admiration I have now is times 100. The bravery and generosity to have disclosed his own suicide attempt. Thankfully it was not successful. The world would be a very grey place if he were not in it.

Really appreciate the "It gets better" vid, but his PR update was a real disappointment. The only thing I can think is that he's being muzzled, big time.

Agreed. Did anyone who watched the last one posted (Jackie O challenge?) remember what he might have said that "hurt someone very dear to me"?

FWIW, my sister and I have both felt that since the switch to Lifetime, he's been on his way off the show. It seems that he's frequently making comments to the designers that are contrary to the judges and his early vlogs seem to insinuate that the production is shutting him out. He was pretty blatantly disgruntled in the early vlogs.

If Tim Gunn goes I may quit watching. He's the best part of the show.

I posted a link on it few pages back he talked about his disagreements with the producers on the Jackie o challenge. He seems really annoyed this season.

He took down the episode of Jackie O and hasn't done one since. He insists it was his idea but I think the producers probably told him to but who knows.

Btw just heard Heidi retired from Vic secret to focus on the show.

Have fun watching tonight guys i cant wait :)

Amen!
I respect Tim so much. He saved lives by sharing his story, I'm sure.

Thanks, I didn't think I'd seen it because I was away for 2 weeks, but I guess I had. I didn't find it offensive, but then I'm not Nina Garcia either! Poor Tim.

If by "may" you mean "definitely," then ITA. Tim's gone, I'm gone.

PR would need to reinvent itself as a very different, innovative animal to [try to] compensate for Tim's absence. Same ol' same ol', without Tim Gunn, would be death to the series. She's not a fresh, young thing anymore.

If the producers had a clue, they'd make more use of Tim. I would love to hear more of what Tim says to the designers during the process, rather than the edited "sound bytes" the producers throw in. The longer version of the judges discussion is babble. they could get rid of that and give us more Tim. I wonder if it's an ego thing. That Tim is overshadowing and more popular than the "Stars".

I suspect Heidi has more of a say in what airs than we think. Although we probably don't get to see everything, Tim's extended comments to the designers are available on the Lifetime site.

That woudl be the thing. If it's more mindless drivel from Heidi and the increasingly-pathetic Nina (does ANYONE read/care about Marie Claire?) and Michael (who is starting to look more and more like a has-been) then sayonara. If they revamped the whole premise I might consider it.
