But if they are calling themselves designers, they should. Take Isaac Mizrahi, he is a fabulous designer and tailor. He knows exactly what he is doing & how to execute. I can't imagine why they would put people without skill sets on the show.

I think it's all relative. For example, I can skate very very well. But compared to a Kwan or Weir? I'm a disaster.

So I think Michael C has skills, but perhaps not as good as the others' skills.

I think there is no real way of knowing what their skills are in the audition process. They look at finished products and sketches. They have no way of knowing if the designers made the garments they show in auditions entirely by themselves or how long it took them. Short of sending someone to watch them sew and cut, I don't know how they would determine their ability level.

There have been designers in past seasons with worse skills than Michael C.

And if his big "sin" that set the others all off was the he stated he wants a reality show, I can see why we haven't seen that on air. Lifetime and the producers probably aren't wanting to feed that aspiration by airing him talking about it.

I did a quick search on Google and came up with what appears to be season 5 in its entirety on a Japanese site (tudou.com). I tested one out to see if one needs to register, and I didn't have to, so score! I didn't have much time to look to see if there were any more seasons, but I didn't see any from what little time I had.

Apparently this isn't Ivy's first try at Project Runway:

I would assume that she was just as annoying when she came out of the womb.

Design Star has a building challenge as part of the audition process. The most recent was assembling a cube using a radial saw and mitre box. Many aspiring contestants flunked. If PR wanted to do so, they could do something similar. Give them 3 yards of muslin and have them make a dress with sleeves, or give them a partially finished jacket and have them add sleeves and a lining. It's not rocket science, but a lot of people don't sew well under pressure. My s-i-l can bang anything out... me, not so much.

That site has some links, but I don't want to register for bogus surveys or an account. I'll have to see if my local library has previous seasons. Youtube doesn't have a lot, either.

That's strange. I don't need to register for any surveys....
Try www.realitytv.org :respec: I has all of PR and much much more.

Ivy could last quite a while - look at how long Kayne, Chris M, Suede, and Logan lasted, despite being in or B3 most of the competition.

I don't remember Kayne being B3 that often or thinking that he should have gotten aufed before he did. This was the same season as Vincent and Angela and they both went right before he did. Wasn't there a Blaine on a later season? I remember him being around for longer than he probably should have been.

Did they put Ivy on the show for entertainment annoying factor? Were there only 17 people who auditioned for the 17 spots this season?

You think the doctor was tempted to slap her face rather then her ass when she came out the hatch? ;)
