Just go. Seriously. Heartfelt, honest depiction of a family today that happens to have two moms. Aside from the great acting, it is incredibly funny.

I agree. Annette Bening and Julianne Moore give really moving and honest performances as does Mark Ruffalo. Just a great family film.

I've seen the tv commercials, but until I saw this thread I didn't know it was by Lisa Cholodenko.

She wrote and directed one of my favourite movies as well - Laurel Canyon. Incredible cast including Frances McDormand, Christian Bale, Kate Beckinsale and Alessandro Nivola - highly recommended!
