Maria would spank the mental midget Azarenka probably, especialy as Azarenka plays a one dimensional power game that Maria even in her present state is better at (if she has a decent serving day that is, albeit a big if for Maria these days). And even if Azarenka gets up a set and 4-0 on Maria she will choke vs a much mentally tougher player than herself like she did vs Serena in Australia.

Azarenka d. Sharapova 64, 61

I am right quite a bit more often than you are, not that that is exactly saying much.

Yes, but only one of us pretends to know it all.

Per Matt Cronin, Azarenka pulled out of San Diego.

Davenport won the doubles title at Stanford on her mini-comeback.

I dont pretend anything. I gave my opinion. I still think Azarenka is an overrated mental midget. She will have to do better than to win the odd tier 2 or tier 3 tournament to suggest otherwise. Maria is still struggling to regain her serve and confidence apparently.

Anyway things I have been right on this year so far:

-The overrated Henin's comeback being pretty much a total flop and only proving how inferior to the great Serena she really is

-The mentally strong and overpowering Serena dominating the mental midgets of the currently weak WTA tour, and cementing her place further in history

-Venus fading (and this not a wish as I like Venus alot) in a big way

-Stosur being overrated during the French after her wins over a badly out of sorts Henin and Serena on clay which isnt a huge deal.

-Nadal returning to his rightful throne on top the mens game

-Federer having an up and down year and eventually making a needed coaching change

-Nadal spanking Berdych in the Wimbledon final when it seemed everyone else here somehow believed Berdych had a good shot

-Djokovic staying ranked above Murray

-Soderling having a good year

Things I have been wrong on:

-Jankovic winning the French

-Kim not doing as well as I expected

-Maria underperforming and losing to an overrated ball bashing mental midget in a small tournament final

:kickass: Q!

Sam's confidence has made amazing strides this summer. Last year, he'd have certainly caved in any of his four matches in LA. Head got in the way. It's terrific to see him win those matches this summer, and to take his career first Top 3 scalp, as well.

And huge kudos to Mike n' Bob for breaking the Woodies' record. :kickass:

:respec: Woodies. Nothing diminishes their greatness. Along with Fleming & Johnny Mac, those guys are The doubles gods. Bryans are knocking on that door, though.

Totally random, but I saw this at an Alexi Y. board:

From an interview with Kleybanova:

- Russians have attained much in the Olympic Games. Which of the achievements of Russian athletes was pleasing to you most of all?

- Aleksey Yagudin - one of my favorite figure skaters. I watched the video recordings of his appearances, watched as he skated in Salt Lake City. When he obtained his gold medal, emotions overfilled me, I was close to bursting into tears. The title of Olympic Champion remains with you for life.

Kleybs is such a figure skating fan - she's mentioned Plushy in the past. Thinks she lurks here? ;)

She even declared she had Edwin Marton's album in her ipod or something if I recall correctly. ;)

BTW, how are you at the weather? If we give you a zip code, can you tell us if August is going to be a little cooler than June and July have been? ;)

^

Kuznetsova might be making baby steps to getting her thighs back to where they belong; she beat Wickmayer in the 1st round in San Diego, nice win for her. I hope she can do some damage on the US series.
