ATP Finals Qualifying:
Yesterday, there was still some doubt, with three spots remaining.
Today, in very short order, it's over!

Verdasco eliminated himself from the ATP Finals by losing today in the Paris Masters, qualifying Berdych and Ferrer. And then Roddick qualified himself and eliminated Melzer (who'd have had to win the event to qualify anyway) by advancing into the Paris quarterfinals.

Congrats to Tomas, David, and Andy! :cheer: Eight consecutive years for ARod!

Meanwhile, Llodra is up a set and a break (just came back from 0-40 to hold) on Djokovic!

 (and :cheer2:)

Roger and Monfils. What a waste of a couple hours of my day. Roger... what is up with the deplorable results when you have a match point? Yikes.

Kudos to Monfils for surviving the Roger refuse...

ATP Finals starts Sunday (www.cbssports.com/tennis/story/14304888/nadal-grouped-with-djokovic-at-atp-finals-in-london)

The Round Robin Groups:

Nadal, Djokovic, Berdych, Roddick

Federer, Soderling, Murray, Ferrer

Really, this is hard to predict. :COP: Soderling appears to be in the best form, and Murray the worst. But Murray is "home" more or less. Nadal w/d from Paris due to [injury?]. Ferrer and Roddick probably don't have what it takes to win, but could be spoilers for semis slots. Berdych ... is Berdych, ergo probably the most likely to score zero points in the RR. You'd think Djokovic and Federer should be there in the end with Robin and if he's healthy Rafa, but who knows? No, I'm not predicting this!

I see Federer and Murray making it out of their group and Nadal and Roddick out of the other. Soderling just won Paris but he didnt play any of the top 4 to win it. He doesnt generally do well vs either Federer or Murray. Djokovic is Roddicks lapdog.

Hmmm, hadn't thought of that. ARod seems to respond well to both Djokovic's and Berdych's games ... he's 5-2 HTH versus Nole and 6-2 HTH versus Berdych.

:drama: Of course if things per trend in the RR, Roddick might next face Federer in the semis ... erm, he doesn't have quite as successful a record against the Swiss.

ATP gave a nice goodbye homage (http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/5641/92080824.jpg) to Carlos Moyà at London.
I´ll miss the old sexy guy :)

BTW I really like Murray´s argyle black shirt :shuffle: and he looked in great shape against Soderling.

Roddick up on Rafa at the moment. 6-3, 4-4. I think if he wins this match he will win the pool since he will probably beat Djokovic who he owns, and will almost for sure beat Berdych. That might not be such a great thing for Roddick though since there is a good chance Murray will be the 1st seed out of the other pool and Federer 2nd, and in that scenario Roddick would play Federer in the semis if he wins today (and wins his other 2 matches as expected).

Well Rafa comes back to win. We could have 3 guys at 2-1 now if Djokovic can beat Nadal, since Roddick will probably beat Djokovic as usual.

ARod tweeted that he's not too upset about not winning the pool, since he couldn't have used it till next summer anyway. ;)

Kudos to Rafa for coming back from the brink. He's a good bet to win the whole thing IMO.

Wow, Roger 2-0 in his pool with a win over Murray. Wasn't necessarily expecting that.
