I'm sad to hear that Elena retired. She's always been a class act and I had hoped someday she would win a Slam. I'll never forget the poignant speech she gave after the U.S. Open final soon after the massacre back in Russia. Best wishes to her in the future! :respec:

Beefcake, your Fat Dave URL pic is actually one of Djokovic! ;)
:drama: The article updated after Nole's match, and he became the #1 photo. Here's the Nalbandian-in-all-his-mullety-hotness pic (www.google.com/hostednews/afp/slideshow/ALeqM5hBF98ppi_vtGCG6fxZ7MrD2HmKow?docId=CNG.844da babfa6a3430536f7fcdf984d1d8.3b1&index=2)

The ATP Championships field got a little clearer today, with Fat Dave looking sexy as ever (www.google.com/hostednews/afp/slideshow/ALeqM5hBF98ppi_vtGCG6fxZ7MrD2HmKow?docId=CNG.844da babfa6a3430536f7fcdf984d1d8.3b1&index=0) knocking cutie Cilic from the 6th/7th/8th slots possibilities list, and Youzhny's chances going from "outside" to "near zero" with his new injury.

Berdych, despite his p*ss poor fall season (another early loss this week), is nearly qualified ... to "not" qualify, it would take some very deep runs this week and next by three guys currently below him.

For the 7th and 8th slots, Roddick and Ferrer are not keeping pace, both into their respective 500 quarterfinals this week. Verdasco lost early this week, so he'll lose more ground to those two.

Finally: With an early Paris Masters loss by two of the three above and his own deep run there, Melzer could still pull out a slot in London.

Considering Verdasco has been quite bad during the indoor season, not counting on him qualifying.

Looking at the points table, Melzer actually has to win Paris to even hope to qualify.

Shout-out to Taylor Dent, who today announced his retirement from the ATP (www.atpworldtour.com/News/Tennis/2010/11/Other/Dent-Announces-Retirement.aspx)

Considering his huge game, Dent underachieved, making it almost to the top 20, but spent most of his career in the 40-100 range. (He always seemed to be injured/coming back from injury, and is said to have taken physical fitness in his early years.)

But no matter -- his game was (for me at least) always an entertaining spectacle. Boom-serving. Volleying. Dodging. Diving. Chipping. Charging. Fist clinching. Trademark big teeth chomping.

Enjoy what's next, Mr. Dent.

I know that Justin Gimestob has made some deserved negative headlines way back when (misogynistic comments), but he's come onto his own in the past two-three years. I love the guy's smart and witty TV commentary (hope he becomes one of the sports regulars there), and I :respec: his raising money (www.atpworldtour.com/News/Tennis/2010/11/Other/Gimelstob-NY-Marathon.aspx) with a lot of help from Messrs Agassi and Roddick. (Training for and finishing the NY Marathon.)

Kudos to one of my dorksexy crushes, Llodra, :) for taking down Big John in surprisingly easy fashion! His season will end next round versus Djokovic, unfortunately, but Michael has had a very nice season.

"Dear future parents, please please PLEASE let me look like Mommy (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Xazy0jNiGgw/SrP0p1qmMBI/AAAAAAAABRQ/mGp_s_UaeGI/s400/dementievaandmaxim.jpg) ... even :shuffle: if I'm a boy"

But considering his father well known sucess with ladies maybe the boy wouldnīt mind (if he inherits the full package) :shuffle:

Anyway congratulations to them :40beers:

And even if itīs late: Wheee for Ivanovic winning again :cheer:

Elena Dementieva and Taylor Dent, two people I enjoyed cheering for. I wish them both the best in retirement.
