I haven't read the thread, but when will the men's final be played if not today? Will it be televised?

I doubt it will be played at all today. It's drizzling and misty, and looking unlikely to clear up. You should see my hair :drama:

Don't mind Djoko getting extra rest though; should even the playing field.

Surely they must have a cancel by point, like 8pm or something?

Sorry, I am stuck watching football, just checking here for updates rather than tv.

It must be frustrating for the players in the women's double final. It's 5-4 in the third set and a team was going to serve for the match.

I don't mind either that Djokovic gets to rest a little more. I think I'm rooting for him.

One of my twitter buddies who is there said if they don't get the game on by 6:30 EST, they will reschedule. But that update was awhile ago.

Lots of my twitter buddies chomping on the bit for the match to begin, but that's because David Cook is singing America the Beautiful before it begins. (Or not...given the rainout potential.)

My friends in NYC say more rain tomorrow. I thinking the USTA will try and schedule the mens final for 5pm on Monday. They don't want a day final cause people work and they don't want a night final cause of Monday night football. 2 years ago Fed/Murray final was played on Monday with a 5pm start time.

CBS will show the final live.

It would be terrible if the finals got stretched out to Tuesday but......could happen.

Start time tomorrow will be 4 pm EDT.

My friends in NYC say more rain tomorrow.

In that case, the organizers will probably just have Nadal & Djokovic play a one-on-one indoor volleyball match instead. Hey, that could still bring in the ratings. Or even make it mixed--just add Maria on one side and Caroline on the other, and DING, DING, DING...we've got a winner!!! ;)

This article is a rather hilarious, albeit unintentionally, look at the russian women's performance at the US Open.

Another grey day has dawned here in NYC. :( Hopefully things will improve, but I dunno.

Hey, Billie Jean, call the folks at Madison Square Garden, maybe its available today. ;)

Thanks for the weather update, Fergus, and please keep us posted. I'm planning on leaving the office early if the match is on as scheduled.

On the way to work, it was a steady, misty drizzle. The kind when you don't need your wipers full-on, just a wipe every now and then. Or if you're schlepping to the subway station, like me, you just put on your North Face and wear the hood, not hard enough for an umbrella.

I'll try to do a "sunshine dance" in the Staff Room during lunch. ;)

I'm rooting for a career GS for Nadal. It's just so amazing to see him fully healthy and not exhausted at this time of year. Has that ever happened before?

Gah, weather wuzrobbed me of watching the men's final, and today's scheduling (if it holds) will wuzrob me of even following via Internet if the match doesn't go past 2 hours. (Curse you, meetings!) Sooooo ...

Rafa, now I've got to ask you to gift Nole one set, extend the thing a bit to assure that I can "participate" via scores and chat. (But one set only, please! Don't walk the line just for me.) :P

Is it 4 pm yet? :drama:
