Thrilled for Vera! I really think her game is so attractive; beautiful pure ball-striking.

Caro :( She looked GUTTED. That FH needs work.

Kudos Vera! But now I'm going to be torn tomorrow night. :drama: On the one side will be one of my two favorite ladies, Kim or Vee. And on the other a lady who has comeback from a career of ups, downs, injury, tantrums, & tears ... and has reached her second straight Slam final.

How's Kim playing? Stats whisper that she's playing the timid sort of match she used to reserve for Henin. Venus's stats whisper that she's ignoring her net game, and just standing around aiming to out-pound Kim. Sigh.

:shuffle: Or else it's really windy, again, out there on Ashe.

Seriously is there going to be any good quality womens match at this U.S Open? I guess the best one was Wozniacki-Sharapova which was decent.

We :wuzrobbed of a post match interview on court with Clijsters. I know the match went past the scheduled broadcast time (which was 6:00) but please. I remember when the start of the US open men's final was delayed because a football broadcast went long and they didn't leave out the 20 minute post match wrap up

Good luck to Clijsters and Zvonareva on the final! What a lob for the break in the second last game! :respec:

Venus serve let her down again. 2nd set, Venus fought back from 2-5 to tiebreak and completely lets her nerves take out of the match.

Clijsters will repeat as champ. I was hoping for Williams on Saturday night. Clijisters and Zvonareva not gonna get the ratings. This may be the last year of the women's final in primetime.

Considering what Wozniacki said about making Sharapova commit errors, I wonder if she said that Zvonareva made her do the same? ;) Somehow I doubt it. I might feel bad for Wozniacki if I thought this was her last chance to win something big, but she's very young, so theoretically she should have more chances. Besides, her little tantrum in the Cibulkova match wasn't particularly endearing either. Major kudos to Zvonareva. After seeing Wozniacki's sloppy play against Cibulkova, I felt Zvonareva had a chance, but I honestly didn't expect her to win in straight sets.

That Venus-Kim match was wild. Unfortunately, I missed most of the third set because of recording issues. Is there a site where you can watch the completed match online? I sure would like to see the final set. Wow, 6-4, just like last year. :)

I kept thinking, "Is Kim going to find a way to give this match away?" because Venus always kept coming back. Kim was definitely fortunate to win today--what a relief. :cheer2: I think the final is 50-50--could easily go either way. As for Venus, with Serena out, I think this was her last good chance to win a major. Of course, she could still win a Slam or two, but it's only going to get harder. It's hard to believe she hasn't been in the final since 2002.

Yay for Kim. So wanted her to beat Venus and she did it again. She seemed like she had it in the bag, but then, as usual, Venus came back at her and I thought oh no, here we go again, but she held on.

I have no preference in the final. I like Kim a lot and she's a great player, but Vera has really improved lately. After so many meltdowns over the years, she seems to have finally matured and I would love to see a post match meltdown of a different kind if she were to win.

I'm most looking forward to the guys tomorrow!! It should be a great day of tennis
