Been internet-less in Berlin these last few weeks, but still watching the Open.

:cheer2: for Venus, Vera, Caro, Mikhail and Stanislas. :D

Wozniacki in particular is looking good; her match vs Maria was excellent. Hoping she can win it all.

Los Senores Robredo y Granollers didn't seem happy before warm-ups, talking to some mean lookin' official lady...Wow, they're really not happy, another official came over between the sets.

According to USOpen.org:

After the opening set ended, Tommy Robredo was told to change his shirt so it matched the color of his partner. Robredo wasn't too happy and subsequently used some colorful language in a conversation with the tournament referee. He eventually relented and went from blue to white.

Anna Wintour has been hanging around the USTABJKNTC far too much, she's starting to rub-off on the officials. ;)

Hopefully some good doubles action on Ashe this morning/early afternoon! :watch:

Go Bob & Liezel! :cheer2:

Kudla vs. King is turning out to be a tight battle on Armstrong. Some nice forehands from the American kids! :)

Strange team. I agree I would have taken Fish, Querrey, and the Bryan Brothers. Isner is overrated and dumping a doubles specialist just to give way over his head kid Harrison a taste of the big time as a passenger is stupid. He could have still been brought as a hitting partner couldnt he have.

Harrison is very deserving of his spot if a 4th singles player is being named to the team. Have you not watched the Open this year? He beat the #15 seed in Ljubicic and took the #36 player in the world to 8-6 in a 5th set tie-breaker. Sending Harrison is a much better choice then sending an over the hill James Blake or Robbi Ginepri. He's also a better choice than either Taylor Dent or Michael Russell.

Laura Robson is currently a set and 4-1 down to an unheralded American qualifier.

I did not see his match with Ljubicic. I imagine he played out of his mind. Ljubicic also had a dream run in Indian Wells, winning his first ever Masters when in reality he is many years past his prime. After Indian Wells next year he will probably be out of the top 50. I saw the match vs the Ukranian World #36. Shaknovsky seemed rattled by the crowd, missed so many easy putaway shots at the net, was nearly out of the match in the tiebreak, and still won over Harrison who seemed to be playing his heart out. Overall Harrison looked to be quite overmatched ability wise in many ways despite nearly winning. I dont think if they played tommorow in say Asia the match would even be close if both had an average day. And I do remember the match well as I was actually rooting for Harrison.

I like Harrison but I am not sure if he even has a top 100 game yet. He still has a long way to go but of course shows promise for the future. Just my opinion.

I guess if they are taking 4 singles it makes sense but I dont see why they need 4 singles. There arent going to be 2 injuries to singles players. They should take atleast one doubles player. They could just take Harrison as a hitting partner which doesnt count to the team entries if they want him to get the experience.

We shouldn't be going crazy about a player based on one good run.

Remember Jesse Witten who reached R3 and played a great match against Djokovic last year? He has not done anything since, complete with losing in the USO qualis.

Just saying...

Before the tournament, I was picking Wozniacki to win it all and I think she will.

Bob B. wearing Monfil's checkered shorts.

He must have read in the post above that I liked 'em, that's my boy! ;)

I would :swoon: if he changed his name to "Rolf" just for this match.

Young Master Sock facing a break point on Armstrong.

^ Not to worry, Fergus. Sock saved a mess ... held, and is now up a set and 3-0!

Young Master Sock has got some good game goin' on. :watch:

Stan vs. Mikey up next on Ashe. This could either be really intense, perhaps even 5 sets, OR a complete
