Isn't it 5 Spaniards in the 4th rd? Nadal, Lopez, Ferrer, Verdasco, and Robredo.

Speaking of Tommy Robredo...he hasn't done shit all year and now he's in the rd of 16 at the US Open. :)

Great comeback by Isner down 6-4 5-1 and he wins the 2nd set! :D

At this rate it will be midnight by the time Stosur/Dementieva take to the court.

Wozniacki/Sharapova tomorrow :watch: Hope Diva Sharapova goes down.

Oh wait, it is 6 Spaniards in the 4th rd....forgot about Montanes too.

BTW, how nice to see the vile Andy Murray go down. Thank you Stan Wawrinka. The longer Murray goes without winning a major that much more pressure will be on him in future events.

Venus is looking so so. I would give Peer at 50% chance atleast.

Venus only served 48%. Did Peer play well? If she'd won the tiebreaker, things might have turned out differently. I think Schiavone has a good chance against Venus in the next round--she seems to have her mojo back. :) And she's a very smart competitor. I would not be at all shocked to see her win. I was surprised that she beat Pavly so easily.

With Murray out, things are looking pretty good now for Nadal. I guess his draw wasn't so bad after all. :)

Is there a deadline after which they move the match to the next day?

I just hope whoever wins will mount the best challenge in the succeeding rounds. I'll be happy for either.

I don't think so - but Wozniacki followed Nadal on Tuesday and it was approx 11:30pm when that match started so I suspect the ladies match will go on tonight as planned!!

Well, if Isner pulls another marathon match, then we may be in for Sunrise at the Open. Wake up to Sam and Elena! :)

Well he just lost in 4 sets - though don't forget the US Open has a tie-break in the 5th set so no marathon matches in New York!!!

I'm a big fan of Youzhny's game and I'm glad he managed to keep playing well after the massive choke in the 2nd set.

All things considered, not a bad tournament for Big John.

Well, there's no limit on how long you can go in a tie break, so who knows. ;)

Is there a deadline after which they move the match to the next day?Mais NON! :drama: Typing this from the upper reaches of Arthur Ashe and I want my money's worth as the night schedule calls for 2 matches. ;)

Dementieva has awfully awkward serving technique. Kinda like she's doing with her arms/armpits what a dog does with its rear end and hind leg when peeing on a fire hydrant.

Stosur has MEAN biceps!!! :hat1:

UMBS Go Blue --

Stosur-Dementieva looks like a good match so far. Let's hope they both keep their heads in it.

Although Isner-Youzhny was close and hard-fought, my attention kept wandering.

UMBS, you're right, that service motion is bizarre, even for Elena.

Didn't she get a handle on her serve after all those years of :yikes: ? But I guess if it works for her, let it fly, girl!

BTW, your seats last night were far too chi-chi for moi, they don't let us plebs down by you unless we're inoculated and tagged. ;)

Rafael Nadal apparently is sick of seeing Roger Federer's image.

According to a U.S. Open source, Nadal refused to get into one of the Mercedes transportation vans that carried a big promotional picture of Federer raising his arms in triumph.

Nadal requested he get a van that did not have Federer's visage on it. The incident at the USTA National Tennis Center occurred after Nadal's first-round victory late Tuesday night....

OMG - Princess Rafa!

Sorry, Elena! I tuned in at 3-0 in the final set, and now it's 3-2! I must be a jinx.
