Fergus, Saturday night you'll probably either see Fish/Clement or Blake/Djokovic (providing Djokovic wins tonight). I'm thinking JJ will be the ladies match. Since CBS gets to call the shots on the weekend they'll have Sharapova and Fed during the day.

I sort of hope so, I'd love to :cheer2: for Mardy!

Jelena puts on a good show, too. Her final against Serena was quite entertaining.

Djok's splits!

Is it surprising that Ivanovic is into the 3rd round and with an easy win (against a seed, at that!)? Hasn't she been playing horribly or did she pull her game together this summer?

Typical Djokocoaster again - from WTG, through WTF to PML!

She played extremely well in Cincy but then injured her ankle in the semis. Playing well here again but her toss is still wild at times.

OK, so this is what happened (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPelP6HG7ig) in the stand during Djokovic vs Petzschner last night.

It seems weird and we did miss what started the entire confrontation but from both youtube clips after shouting from both sides the older guy did appear to physically attack the younger guy thus causing the fall - to put the full blame on the younger guy totally would be a tad unfair. I would therefore hope both parties got ejected not just the younger guy.

WOW, amazing videos. What a world we live in today where everything can be captured on video. The kid was obviously a jerk but then that woman was completely out of line to slap him like she did.

Thanks for sharing.....OK, back to tennis. <G>

If the kid was such a disturbance, security should have been contacted immediately to deal with the situation. It shouldn't have gotten physical.

What's next, a brawl at Skate America? :yikes:

From this article (http://straightsets.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/03/fight-interrupts-djokovic-match/):

All three people were handcuffed and brought to the 110th Precinct in Queens, said Tim Curry, a spokesman for the United States Tennis Association.

Ultimately, none of the fans was arrested. Instead, they were given trespass warnings and told not to return to the Open for a certain amount of time, though the authorities could not immediately say how long.

Ah, New Yorkers!

Or was Jersey Shore filming there last night?

If they were, I'd give everyone in their section an Rx for Valtrex.

Wow, Dementieva battled back to take the first set!

Nestor & Zimonjic already down a set! :(

Well I'm now back to watching the Open after actually making it there in person. We saw the Monday day session and baked. My new husband has the patience of a saint for sitting there with me for 6 hours and his poor knees are burnt. It was amazing though! I loved the grounds around the tennis center and the lemonade was refreshing. I hope someday I can fortunate enough to see Wimbledon in person.

And play is now suspended due to rain. :(

Dang you, Earl!
