Love watching Dickie Gasket play so well. Great passing shots! Hope he keeps it up.

Watching Nishikori/Cilic was like watching two people being tortured.

CaptCrunch, I match your "Mandy Manilla" and raise you a "Beatrice Capra", who just finished her second WTA level victory (((over Rezai, aw))) and is now into the US Open 3rd round.

Stats for that match are ugggggggggggggly!

She's a grinder and one of the higher ranked US juniors. Not surprised at how bad the stats are. Rezai probably was in her UE mode and Capra is consistent.

Dickie Gasquet :cheer: Win it!

I'm glad Sabine Lisicki won a match (even if it was against a wildcard) and that the second set against Bepa was competitive.

working on my report.... ;) hope to post it later tonight

Oh, and JJ is about to give me an ulcer for the second round in a row...

Blake arguing with the umpire (same one from Roddick's match last night) over an overrule. Seems pointless to argue if you're on a hawkeye court. Then again, this is Blake who, like Roddick, tends to get an attitude if things are not going his way.

As Fernandez said in the booth Lucic hits the ball alot harder than JJ. The match wasnt even really in Jankovic's hands. All she could do was be consistent and play great defense, hoping to frusterate Lucic into errors. And she did it well enough to move on. I thought she looked better than her 1st round match.

I thought hawkeye is on Louis Armstrong and that is showed an overrule by the umpire to be incorrect and that is what Blake was arguing about!!

Yes he was, but what was the point of the long argument? He challenged the overrule, the umpire was wrong, that should be the end of the story.

That I agree with - it was pointless and a waste of energy. I also agree with your prior comment - Blake is also prone to petulant behaviour on court - further enhanced by the J block - which is thankfully not around of late!!

Sad for Polansky. :(

But oh well, still a good run for the Canuck...

Indeed it was and he had some really nice moments in this match as well.

Petzschner is a sort of a scruffy hottie. :smokin:

Tomorrow is gonna be wet and windy in NYC, wonder how that is going to effect the schedule. I've got tix for Saturday night, maybe we'll get to see more than we originally thought. :watch:

OMG, a fist-fight breaks out in the upper deck of Ashe! WTF?

I think the rain tomorrow is scheduled for late in the day and tomorrow night. Will be awfully windy though.

Fergus, Saturday night you'll probably either see Fish/Clement or Blake/Djokovic (providing Djokovic wins tonight). I'm thinking JJ will be the ladies match. Since CBS gets to call the shots on the weekend they'll have Sharapova and Fed during the day.

Was restless tonight - got a lot on my mind - so I went out very briefly just to keep busy. Glad I didn't miss anything by not seeing Sharapova's match. :)
