I hate it when Roddick turns into an asshole during the matches. Funny he got so angry over the foot fault but as the replay shows, he really did foot fault.

How come Serena got a warning+ last year for very similar behavior and not Roddick? It seems to be a double standard. I want Roddick to pull the match out and I still love the guy, but he went over-the-top there.

Check out all the anti-Roddick tweets - including mine. :fan: (Going douchebag on refs is why I ALWAYS rooted against whinybabies Connors/MacEnroe.)

Anybody watch this on ESPN360? For awhile my feed was freezing/ cutting out. (Not sure if it was my bandwidth issue or the site overloaded.) Anyway, it got better just in time for AR's :lynch: meltdown.

I usually like Andy but I'm rooting for Tipsarevic, who had to wait while Andy had his mini-meltdown and is just making so many amazing winners. This would be a great win for him.

Congrats to Tipsy - he played exceptionally well tonight and deserved his win. And Andy should have been warned re his meltdown - he did foot-fault but the linesperson told him the wrong foot - but that didn't give him the right to let rip like that. Oh well I really doubt Andy can ever win another Slam - and that's a pity really!!

Congrats Tipsa, smartly played! 61 winners! :respec:

Yeah, I think that match with Federer at Wimbledon was unfortunately Roddick's last chance to possibly get a major.

Roddick acted like a total punkass tonight. So glad he lost. I agree last years Wimbledon was his last real shot of gettting another major. This year will probably be his last in the top 10. He has really overachieved in a way anyway though, if it wasnt for his serve he would be lucky to be a top 100 player.

Too tired to write a report today, but Janko :cheer2:

Agree with what everyone is saying about Roddick. Too many times when things aren't going right he turns into a bully. I too have always been a big fan but the act is getting old now. Roddick was at his best in 2003. Huge serve, huge forehand, and he would step in and take it to his opponents. Now his game is standing 10 feet behind the baseline waiting for his opponent to make an error. At this point he should probably split from Larry Stefanki. At age 28 I agree that he'll never win another major. What a shame. 7 years ago I thought for sure he would win 6 or 7. :(

Tipsarevic played beautifully, a very well-deserved win.

Sigh, Andrew. :wall:

:respec: Yes, excellent. I love this sport when a person is full-on GOING FOR IT (Rafa, Monfils, Dent, etc.), making things happen come hell of high water.

Which is also why I've become frustrated with Roddick's game, and really haven't paid attention to him for a while. His game often falls back to a serve and stand back approach that is both boring and one-dimensional. Eh, last night. I'd expected Roddick to fall in the 3rd round vs. Gael, so this isn't a surprise, nor is his latest baby fit. Ugh, Andy, you're 28, not 8.

Janko's balls-out match deserves applause. Speaking of balls-out play, Mardy is again crusing, up a set and now a game away from serving yet another bagel in this tournament! :encore: Powerful strokes and chip & charge and some serve & volley thrown in for good measure. Love ya Mardy. Ahem, now why couldn't you have gotten serious about winning a decade ago?

Mary Carillo thinks Andy should have gotten a code violation and I have to agree. Andy was clearly looking for a fight and could not let it go. Every player has lost their temper on the court but with Andy, you know if the game is slipping away from him he is going to start acting like a jerk. He's too old for this crap.

Good thing he got his slam when he did because I would be shocked if he was able to win another now.

CaptCrunch, I match your "Mandy Manilla" and raise you a "Beatrice Capra", who just finished her second WTA level victory (((over Rezai, aw))) and is now into the US Open 3rd round.

Stats for that match are ugggggggggggggly!
