I'll pick Zvonerava for the win.

The picks that have been mentioned seem like good ones, but women's tennis these days is hard to predict. In the Wimbledon semis, besides Serena, who would've predicted Kvitova, Pironkova, and Zvonareva? And who would've predicted Stosur and Schiavone to make the finals of the French? I suspect at least one of Clijsters, Wozniacki, and Sharapova will make the semis, but that's as far as I'll go. :) I also predict that there will be at least one big surprise in the semis.

I pick Federer and Clijsters to win the U.S Open. Murray and Wozniacki are my 2nd picks. I cant see anyone else winning it besides some combination of those 4 this year.

In other very important news:

Feli and Pics (http://twitpic.com/2dq7rf) took a romantic side trip to Niagara Falls while in Canada.

But now Feli and Nando (http://twitpic.com/2hln2e) seem to be back on since they arrived in NYC.

Just noticed Feli didn't have a problem disclosing what hotel they're staying at. I think you should pay them a visit, Fergus. ;)

Last year, though, how many people expected del Potro to win? Furthermore, I don't think winning a tournament right before a Grand Slam is necessarily a huge advantage. I think it's better to do well in the tournaments leading up to the event, but not too well. Kind of like how Evan finished third and second at Nationals the past two years, and then went on to win both Worlds and the Olympics.

As for the women, anything is possible. Even the top two seeds are hardly unbeatable. Something tells me Clijsters won't repeat. I like her and would be happy to see her win again, but being the defending champ is a lot of pressure to shoulder. I have no idea who will win, and that's actually kinda nice. :)
