^I have a funny feeling this might be the Vika Azarenka breakthrough - or that Maria Sharapova might finally string something together again. One of those two in my book.

I see Clijsters 3 peating if she is healthy for the U.S Open. If not Kim a total surprise ala Schiavone at the French. If your prediction of one of the shrieking monkeys winning the U.S Open comes true I will truly stop watching any womens tennis for awhile.

0:58 makes me

Robin mocking Lleyton?? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA8jr4zAvYc)

Fish beat Roddick in the semis in Cincy, 4-6 7-6 6-1 ... Andy led 6-4 5-2  Roddick really is a pusher with a serve IMO whilst I've never seen Fish so fit and confident.

He really is; the other day he only hit 7 non-serve winners. Meanwhile, Fish has really gotten in shape and is playing better than ever.

Gooo Roger! :kickass:

My only hope for the USO is that Wozniacki doesn't win. I can't imagine a slam being so bad that she ends up with the title. :o

Anyone heard the latest? I realize that Serena's withdrawal does leave a big hole in the tournament, but I still think it's a bit disrespectful that they're officially changing the name from the "U.S. Open" to "Anybody's Open." ;)

:sekret: in Cincy reporting we might be seeing some BG in Nole's future. Interesting, if true.

Still can't believe Roddick lost it having such a lead. Congrats, Fishy! :respec:

I actually wouldnt mind Wozniacki winning the U.S Open title. Like her or not she is the best player of her age group and a big part of the future of tennis. It would be good to see her further validate her ranking.

I won't argue with the first part, but last time I visited the zoo, I never saw a simian that looked quite as good as Maria. ;)

^I don't think ANY of us think the current WTA tour is at its peak.

Well, how much worse do you think it can get? ;)

At least she's somewhat consistent--IOW, she doesn't normally crash out in the first or second round of a tournament. So, I'm fine with her or just about anybody else winning. The draw will play a big part.

I actually wouldn't mind Maria winning at all. She's had a pretty solid USO series, making 2 finals, and has steadily improved throughout the year. I wasn't a huge fan before, but she's really won me over by her attempts to come back and being unafraid to do anything to improve her game.

But if any young player wins it, I really hope it's Vika.

She's probably the mentally toughest of any of the top competitors too. Venus Williams seems to be a question mark. How injured is she, I wonder?

Speaking of which, judgejudy27's Azarenka fan page is down again--third time in a week. Maybe she can get the admin to bounce the server or something. ;)
