I just ordered my tickets - for Saturday - I'm finally going with someone who has read the books! We picked the non 3D version.

Just got my tickets for next Friday afternoon at 4 pm. 3D and we're 8th row center.

Even better, that's the day that one of the major freeways in Los Angeles is being shut down, so I have a good excuse to sneak out or work early or telecommute that day.

Same director - different screenwriter IIRC, so perhaps that's it.

According to IMDB it was still Steve Kloves.

I can't listen to the audio versions. I listened to the audio version of Deathly Hallows and was taken aback by the very juvenile sounding voices Dale gave the characters considering the tone of the books. I also disliked the way he portrayed Hermione's voice.

Is it the same voices he gave the characters from the first book onward? Maybe he forgot that children's voices age...

I'm disappointed to hear he changed Phineas's voice. That one was spot on in OOTP.

We didn't ask for the title to be changed, Scholastic dumbed it down and underestimated the American market.
I think scholastic was also aiming the book for like 4-6 grade, who are less likely to have been exposed to "britishisms" than adults. At the beginning they obviously didn't realize what a phenomenom it would become. I think that explains why there are fewer changes in the latter books.

So I had my ticket for the midnight show, and yesterday had a refund done. The women I had planned to go with forgot to get their tickets and now it is sold out. I'm not a night person, so if I have to go alone, I'd rather go during the day on Saturday.

whatever it is, it's down :(

Loved the photos of the premiere - I;m used to being shocked at some of the actors' real life appearances compared to their characters' (especially Snape and Lucius) but I was surprised that the twins aren't redheads - seems like all the other Weasleys (except Julie Walters) are gingers IRL. They're so perfect as Fred and George though :)

Agree that Evanna Lynch is perfect as Luna.

And matt lewis - wow! I was worried on how they were going to transform Neville for the last film, and somehow I don't think it will be a problem.

Does anyone have a picture where you can see the tattoo Evanna has on her neck. Michael Jackson's eyes? really?

Also- I'm not sure if it's the angle or real, but the actor who plays Draco Malfoy has a HUGE head compared to his body in those premier photos!

LOL. Those were great. "Yo Mama so ugly, even the whomping willow wouldn't hit that" and "Yo Mama so fat, they gonna split the movie about her in to two parts"

Just screened this yesterday.

The 3D glasses at my theater were shaped like Harry Potter's spectacles, and many of the younger patrons took delight in popping out the lenses and wearing just the frames.

This is actually the first full "Potter" film I've seen. I read the first four books years ago. I didn't get all the plot points and from what I could gather, some of the major characters took a back seat in this movie.

The film was definitely PG, with lots of destruction and death and one obvious profanity towards the end.

Personally, it didn't feel as lump-in-your-throat "epic" as say, "Return of the King," but I'm sure fans will enjoy it.

I don't love 3D, but it was fine here (unlike "Avatar" where I got nauseous). It's weird (spoiler) when you have bits of Voldemort disintegrating in your face at the end.

Yo momma so fat, the sorting hat assigned her to the House of Pancakes.

This (http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lk9wbydGeY1qdufgxo1_500.png) popped up as the first image in a Google search. I don't know if those are supposed to be Michael Jackson's eyes, but they are creepy and a bad idea!

Great review from CinemaBlend :)

I agree with the review that the beginning didn't move the story too much, and at times seemed slow.

I had to leave right in the middle of the battle at Hogwarts.

Too much action + large diet Coke = untimely bathroom break. So go early if you have to go lol.
