I like 3D (well Avatar, but not any others) but I can't see the point of using it for Harry Potter.

I hate 3D--I hope they show it in both formats so people can choose.

They usually do. I hate 3D too.

From what I've read (non-spoiler), the final "mano y mano" fight between Voldy and Harry was made longer in the movie because the one in the book is fairly brief. I imagine that's where the bungee jump off the castle comes in to play.

I read a couple of reviews from audience members at the test screening held a few weeks ago: I was pleased to read that Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith really shine in Part 2.

Anyone else notice how many times Voldy yells in the preview? It's 5, I counted

I absolutely cannot wait to see this movie. I hate to wish my much needed summer away, but it really needs to be July 15 already.

I am really looking forward to it. My last seminar in this semester at uni will be on the 15th till 7 p.m. I am already looking forward to going directly from uni to the cinema and celebrate the beginning of the summer break with HP7.2.

If that was taking place anywhere near me, you can be sure I'd be there! As it is, I live nowhere remotely close to it, so I will have to have my own HP marathon at home. Won't be near as fun, but it's better than nothing!

ETA - And I'll be making butterbeer! I haven't decided whether I'll make it warm or cold yet, but this (http://www.chicaandjo.com/2010/09/10/hot-butterbeer-recipe/) site has recipes for both and they look good! I wanna make it warm since that's how it is in the books, but since the movie will be released in July, I'm thinking I should go cold. But I guess I'll figure that out the closer I get to it.

For some reason I have no desire to see the final film. I know I will, I have seen each and every one in the theater so I wont ruin that streak on the last one. The previews just don't bring me in and it all feels so disjointed having been broken into 2 films even though I understand why. Maybe I am just upset that it is all over. I about had a mental breakdown upon reading the final book but I had the movies to look forward to, now I won't even have that. :wuzrobbed

When I heard that Deathly Hallows was going to be split up, my first reaction was that it was a money making scheme....but honestly, I re-read the book for the first time in four years last month, and I actually get why they decided to do it. There is SO much info in the last book.

I REALLY hope that Snape's memories are given enough attention in part 2. The sixth movie was suppose to be all about Snape and by the end of the film, it wasn't even explained why he called himself the Half-Blood Prince!

We're totally going to be partying it up on premiere night. My best friend and I are planning on brewing some homemade firewhiskey for another of our friend's HP-themed house party. :summer: :rockstar: Most of us just graduated from college or are graduating next year, so we kind of feel like its the official "end of an era" kind of thing. We've grown up with the books and films...and now, well, we're grown up.

mild spoiler I know Snape's death does not take place in the Shrieking Shack in the film. I think they made a new location. Annoying, but if you think back to film 3 where they also ditched the Shrieking Shack, it kind of makes sense. I really hope they get Snape's death right, though

Does anyone know what part 2 is rated?? Everywhere I look, it says "not rated". What does that mean??

It usually means that the people who pre-watch the movie to determine its rating haven't done so yet. Or maybe they have and rated it R, and the editing crew is fiddling with it to make it PG-13.

Bought my tickets! IMAX, but not 3D. I don't really like 3D, so I'm grateful the theater was sold out of 3D seats (I'm going in a group of 7). We got great seats! I'm getting really excited now.
