My hope for Mueller and Ozil is not to be too tempted by a big money move and then spend all their time warming the bench or be wasted in a system that does not fit their talents. Look at Forlan. He was a major bust with ManU but, once getting out of the Premier League and signing with a smaller but nevertheless strong club, has become one of the world's best forwards.

It wasn't just the handball; it was his attitude afterward as well: "I made the save of the tournament, hand of God 2.0" crap

And then when Gyan missed the penalty he was jumping around for joy. But I felt kind of bad about the excessive booing too.

I just looked at some medal awarding pics at the yahoo WC sports site and I guess it was Getty Images that made the error twice, but they misnamed Thomas Mueller as Arne Friedrich! What more does this guy have to do to make his face/name known!:lol: The pics were removed so I guess they were making the change.

Congrats to Germany for their Bronze medals. They are very likely to lift the cup in two years.

Oh Uruguay :fragile: My heart aches for both Diego Lugano and Diego Forlan :fragile:

I'd love them to but I don't think it's going to happen. Simply because everyone says so right now.
It's just that two years is a long time... Who knows what's going to happen in two years, who knows if Klose will stay, if Friedrich will stay until then and what that does to the team. There are so many variables... As someone pointed out, Özil and Müller are, unfortunately, very likely to end up on a bench, so...
Two years is a long time and four an even longer one.

A lot of German players got married pretty early, I have no idea why ... here are two pics of him and his wife Lisa:

Tsk, Tsk, his wife is swoon worthy as well ... Money, athleticism, looks, wife, what an unfair world :drama:

Don't know about Ozil. But I know that Muller's club made the Championship Final and he's a starter for them. They've made it clear that they aren't selling him, and he's already signed an extension. Supposedly they are going to give him a raise too.

My poor darling Uruguay comes away without a medal but still I am happy about their final four finish. Not to mention they frought to the very last second and really made Germany work for it! So congratulations to Germany on a job well done. :cheer2: The Germans have a very talented and young team with a lot of young upcoming talent still in the junior ranks. They will be a force to be reckoned with for a long time to come.

There is a lot of interest in Ozil right now so time will tell.

I still don't know who I want to win more...Both teams are great but if I have to make a prediction I'd say Spain is the favourite (not just because of Paul :P). I also think it won't be an entertaining match with lots of goals (like yesterday).

Very pretty - but I am still amazed that he married so young - but if as you say it is common for German players then maybe it'll work out OK!! I just think 20 is too young to make that commitment - but that is going way off topic!!

I have a theory that for footballers marrying young has a good influence on their careers. It gives them stability (mostly psychologically), less partying=better physical form, etc.
Otherwise, I agree that 20 is kinda young (but yes, it's a whole other toppic)

Are you serious? I have a Vietnamese friend whose name is Huy. And he knows Russian and lived in Russia for a year. Wonder how he survived. :D

There is a joke in Bulgarian: The rabbit, the fox and the hamster decided to emigrate to Vietnam, so they thought that changing their names accordingly would help them fit in. So the rabbit said "I am a rabbit so I am gonna be Rui", the fox said "Then my name is going to be Fui" and the hamster said "Then I am going back home"
