Norwegian TV just showed Joakim Lw eating his own booger. :yikes: I really did not need to see that. :(

Reminder to coaches: FIFA have one camera on you for the entire match!

I have a confession to make and here it is.... I am against video replay technology in football. I LOVE the idea of two extra assistants to monitor the goal area. But I am still against video replay because it will interupt the flow of the game. :slinkaway :blocjudge

Any more than players arguing with the ref. after controversial calls? I could swear the Mexican and Argentinian players kept arguing with the ref. for 2 minutes after the offside goal Argentina scored, plenty of time for an assistant to have seen the footage and declared the goal offside.

It may end up hurtful for the game, I don't know. but neither do the FIFA officials, and there has to be a way to find out. Why not test it out for a couple of seasons with the U-17 leagues and see how bad/good it is?

But as the Argentinian goal was shown on the big screen in the stadium and everyone saw it was offside - which re-inforced the Mexican arguments and thus slowed the game flow anyway - it would have been pretty quick for the 4th official to inform the ref (who had to have seen the travesty on the screen himself!!) to reverse the decision.

But I do understand your concern with slowing the game down too much - it really depends how it is implemented. But the extra officials to monitor the goal areas is defintely feasibleand should be considered for premier matches at least.

 I wish that I hadn't read Best Week Ever last night, because they had the booger vid link there ... and I couldn't resist hitting "play" just because it was there.

OMG, who does that? Even by yourself in a darkened, shuttered room -- who the hell picks it, rolls it, and well you know?

And I am to blame? Don't shoot the messenger. :drama:  I do feel sorry for Lw though. He is usually brings the sexy. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to look at him in the same way again. :(

I can't either. :drama: He was one of the better looking coaches. I always liked when he and Klinsmann coordinated their outfits back when he was the assistant coach. They made a :grope: team.

Speaking of Lw, I love this video: Gimme Hope Joachim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnFaEQPvN2o&feature=related). I love how Mertesacker is twice as tall as everyone; Lahm standing on a stool, Schweinsteiger and Podolski holding hands, Ronaldo's teeny weeny...

^ Cute. when it panned over from the players to Merkel, the Pope, Chewbacca (who knew he was German? or is there an inside joke I don't know?), and Heidi Klum all singing the tune.
