Good for them! They really are trailblazers for skating in China and have handled the ups and downs (and ups again) of their career with such class. I hope they have a lot of chances to enjoy their accomplishments.

The article is not clear about if the dealer gave them the cars as gift or just sold the cars to them. It reads more like S/Z purchased the cars from the context, again, not clearly expressed. I guess if they did purchase the cars themselves, there must be a very deep discount for the publicity. But I really hope those cars are gifts:)

Okay, the first article is a bit confusing (it goes on and on about the BMWs instead of S/Z so I didn't bother reading it in detail).

So Zhao picked a car for Shen and then picked one for himself. Sounds like they bought the vehicles though the vendor is obviously making a big promotional piece out of it.

According to this (http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2010-06-17/16425045419.shtml), Shen wants to "run away from home" because the press events are too overwhelming. :)

Excellent pictures. They both look wonderful & seem very happy. I certainly hope the cars were a gift due to the glory they have brought to Chinese figure skating.

They might as well enjoy all the publicity they can get now because there is ALWAYS someone else waiting in the wings.

Speaking of S&Z, is Yao Bin in fact retiring? I seem to remember an article shortly after the Olympics in which he was quoted as saying he'd like to retire, but it wasn't clear that he would in fact do so.

OK, the second article made it very clear that they purchased the cars. If they didn't get a discount the dealer definitely took advantage of them big time. The article mentioned that S/Z looked nevous facing all the medias at the beginning, which made me think that they might not be aware of the publicity the dealer had in mind. Otherwise why would they be nevous? This was not the first time they faced media, not the first time they purchased a car either.
