Did anyone catch Johnny on the Detroit FOX 2 News Morning Weekend show yesterday? He was on to talk about this show.

Oh my. Those are high.

Surburban Ice is just a normal ice rink, too. I don't recall it being anything fancy.

Wow. I got to sit in our downtown arena, in the third row, for $25 per ticket for Johnny and Rachael and others yesterday in Columbus. Seems a bit steep for bench seating in a Detroit suburb.

Combining a fashion show with skaters on ice is a great idea, though.

Wow um that's alot for a 'VIP' ticket... there must be something included with it.

ETA: Just a screening of his show?

Oh and... they spelt Alissa's name wrong.

Right? And the show season finale is airing on tv that night so if you have Sundance you can watch it for free. I guess it would be fun to do the whole event and I do think it's a great idea to combine fashion and skating especially with two cuties like Alissa and Johnny but yeah, mucho dinero.

IMHO, the cost is high because of the fashion show and the designers, not because of the actual skating gala.

I think what's a little off-putting here is that these high prices are not attached to fund-raising for a not-for-profit or cause of some kind. The only place I see any not-for-profit benefit is that a small % of their bridal gowns sold go to charity but these enormous table amounts and ticket prices - all going to a single commercial venture.

Not the skaters' fault or doing at all, but the whole thing is quite surprising.

In Johnny's recent blog entry (http://www.sundancechannel.com/sunfiltered/2010/06/johnny-weir-everybody-wants-a-piece-of-this/) on sundancechannel.com he mentioned his upcoming appearance at the CDLC show:

2. On June 27 and 28 I will be in Detroit, Michigan to be part of a fashion show on ice for the bridal boutique, “Creme de la Creme.” I am going to be prancing around in some pretty extravagant costumes and at the end of the show, I’ll be performing my fan favorite exhibition routine to “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga in a new costume. I’m very excited to debut the new costume! Be sure to check it out if you are in Michigan!

This looks kind of outdated, as the only "sk8ing star" listed is Csizny.

So that means it's not a fundraiser? I can assure you, it is.
