Woah, isn't Liebestraum what everyone wanted Mao to skate to?

YES! I really wanted her to skate to that last year :shuffle:

But this year is still good :P

Mao said also a suggestive comment. She attracts by "adult love".
June 21st, 2010 JST

At June 20th, Mao Asada (19, Chukyo University) returned to Narita Airport from Canada where she had been making the new program. As for the music to use for the program for next season, she decided "Tango" by Schnittke for SP and "Liebestraum" by Liszt for FS.

The "Liebestraum" is a romantic adult music, but Asada said a suggestive comment. She said, "I can express my own of the present time by this music and whether I have a favorite male or not, I can skate while imagining the situation that I want to meet him or that he has appeared in my dream."

Do you have a boyfriend? Is it one-sided love? She dodged skillfully as for details of question like that, but it says that it is the music which she can reflect obediently her own feelings in.

She is learning under Hiroshi Nagakubo, 63, who grew Shizuka Arakawa as the designated coach for jumps from this month. Main coach is not decided yet, but there is some possibility not to put it as for this season, too.

As for Yu-Na Kim who declared that she continues the eligible player, Asada said, "I had thought that she intend to continue the eligible player because she had not said that she retires from it."

She looks happy and all that matters. :saint: It was breaking my heart last season to see her struggling with her tears in some interviews. :fragile:

New jump coach, Nagakubo is curing Asada of a bad habit of all jumps.
June 26th, 2010 JST

Mao Asada participated to an ice show in Yokohama city in June 25th.
Hiroshi Nagakubo coach who coaches her jump from new season revealed there that he is curing Asada of a bad habit of all jumps.
Nagakubo, an able coach who had coached also Arakawa at one time said, "Because her jumps now have a height but do not have flow, I am curing Asada of making jumps have a flow. As for two consecutive triple jump combination, it is certain that she intends to adopt it in the new program. He will grade up the Olympics silver medalist moreover.

As for two consecutive triple jump combination, it is out of the question if she did not adopt it in a program”. He will grade up the Olympics silver medalist moreover.

Thanks for the translation, but what is he trying to say here? Does it mean they she won't do 3-3 if she does not adopt the new technique?

Thank you for pointing out the vagueness of the sentence.
For avoiding the misunderstanding, I corrected that sentence as follows.
"As for two consecutive triple jump combination, it is certain that she intends to adopt it in the new program."

Maybe it means where Mao flutzes, she would do a 3lo as her solo jump, and then if she were to do a 3-3, it would have to be 3f-3t and not 3f-3lo (can't repeat the solo jump in the combination in the SP I don't believe), and Mao prefers the loop to the toe, so unless she fixes her flutz, she won't do 3-3 because she isn't comfortable enough with 3f-3t. If she fixes the flutz though she could then do 3lz as the solo jump and 3f-3lo and it would be fine.

Dear Mao,

Could you please, please, please skate to the original piano version of Liebestraum #3 and not the cheesy orchestral version?

Yours truly,

Mao showed the new exhibition program for the first time. It was adult performance.
June 26th, 2010 JST

In the ice show which was held in Shin-Yokoham Skate Center in June 25th, Mao Asada showed "Ballade No. 1" by Chopin for the first time as the exhibition program of new season.

She performed gracefully with the costume of a snow-white long-dress-like while saying, "I imagined a ballerina also as for a costume and also as for a hair style." Nagakubo coach who is coaching her jumps from this month, revealed that they are tackling the big cure, while saying, "Her jump so far has height but does not have flow ,it may take us two years to cure that bad habit and I am ready to suffer bashing for it."

I'm not familiar with Liebestraum - at least not the name. If it's common music I'm sure I'll recognize it though.

Who else has skated to it?
