Ah, I'm sure she'll get a senior discount for the bus to get there. ;)

Watched an online feed of World Juniors last night with Canadian commentator and Mike Powell. Powell was completely unPC and said how nice it was to see attractive women competing in the heptathlon because they all used to be more manly when he was an athlete.

Was watching it too.

Those Heptathletes were :swoon: though, particularly Schippers. Hope she's over 18...:shuffle:

But he's right. In his day it was Kratochvilova (http://blog.seattlepi.com/undraftedfreeagent/library/Kratochvilova.jpg), (had a) Koch (http://www.goldengala.it/images/1986-Koch.jpg), Donkova (http://www.sporting-heroes.net/files_athletics/DONKOVA_Y_19920804_SF_R.jpg) and Dmitrova (http://www.sporting-heroes.net/files_athletics/DIMITROVA_S_20020808_GH_L.jpg)....Not exactly 'Pretty specimens'.

These days we have...Schippers (http://www.sporttop.nl/77627/0909DSkleinvierkant.jpg), Kallur (http://www2.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Olympics+Day+10+Athletics+1SdSIBpumdNl.jpg), Brianna Glenn (http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/2009+USA+Outdoor+Track+Field+Championships+6pPERQv eR-1l.jpg) and Alminova (http://athletics-bg.com/wp-content/uploads/anna_alminova_beijing1-275x300.jpg) (Who proves that even druggies can look good these days).

Mind you, all of this is null and void when you realise that Mike Powell had THIS (http://www.strangesports.com/images/content/123239.jpg) to look at in a sand pit near him, who was surely enough "Pretty" for anyone. Also....QUEEN of the Track and field Wedgie.....????
A decade of Wedgie:

Of course, he's right. But you're not supposed to say things like that on TV. In North America anyway.

By the way, didn't Donkova have some fingers missing or something? :yikes:

PML.

I take it now that RTE are showing Euros and there's loads of talk about medals, Ireland is going to come away empty handed. :fragile:

Just checked TV schedule and on Friday evening we get 45 minutes of the BBC and then BBC2 are showing something called "The Milk Cup" for the rest of the evening. I hate BBC Northern Ireland sometimes.

This means that I'll have to watch Jerry Kiernan on RTE. :scream:

Try not to have dirty thoughts ;)

BBC Northern Ireland and their scheduling leave a lot to be desired. :drama:

Wheee, Freddy only 3 days! :cheer: Sure you don't wanna come?! ;)

I'd love to, but I don't think I could handle the heat. ;)

WHEEEEEEE

First time in about three years that I've cheered on an Irish athlete to a medal. WIth the two Kenyan's, the Ethiopian and Jordan Hassay in that race, you wouldn't have thought Ireland's Ciara Mageen had a chance of a medal, but I knew she would. 7! second PB, run 4'09 for 1500m and places second. She really is the Second coming of Sonia O'Sullivan and WHEEEEEEEE!

They'd better have this on the 9 o'clock news!

Four years ago we had a daily PBP thread for Euros in Göteborg. Do we want to do that again or just one big old thread?

Hey, The Milk Cup is a big deal here! Go watch your own channels! :lynch:

Couldn't the Milk Cup (I'm guessing that's not in honour of Harvey Milk ;) ) be shown on the red button or whatever, so us Southerners can share the delights of inane Colin Jackson ramblings, Michael Johnson's putdowns and Sue Barker's pink cardies? We :wuzrobbed of a red button! That's something that should be in the Good Friday Agreement. :drama:

I haven't gotten over the trauma of BBC NI going to friggin' GAA during the last 20 minutes of a World Championship marathon a few years ago. :fragile: :drama: :wuzrobbed
