Good news for everyone who wanted to see Swan Lake. DoI will be re-broadcast [probably in full] on BS-Fuji channel on Sunday, July 11th, 1700-1855.

For everyone not in Japan, I'm sure someone will post the clip on YouTube.

The music alone is worth hearing!

Thank you so much, I can't wait to see Hanyu. Hope someone upload the clip.:saint:

Today's broadcast showed pretty much everything of the show + interviews. Probably 11th's will be the same.

Then another program on 17th. It will be only for an hour but in 3D :)

How cute is Mao?!:cheer:
Mao's biellmann looks perfectly beautiful, even in jeans!

I think her spread eagle is also beautiful! And love, love, love that little dance interaction with Kozuka--they would make such a cute couple! :)

I attended the first show today. TV cameras were there, so I assume they will use today's performances for the broadcast on Sunday.
Thanks for your review of the first half, midori! :) Here are the corresponding videos.

Shoma Uno. Fly me to the moon. In Suits and a tie. Adorable.
He is tiny (12 yo, looks like 8) but very impressive. The program had a brief reverse camel spin.
Uno is the 2010 Novice A champ and Junior bronze medalist (DOB is 12/17/97 so he will be age-eligible for the JGP in 2011-12): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtSP3KIepV0

Yukiko Fujisawa. Chim Chim Cherry, as a chimney sweeper.
She must have been grown a lot! Last time she looked like a little child and now she can look like a senior skater.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tlk1LcTr0c
Fujisawa will be back on the JGP this season.

Kento Nakamura. Jazz I do not recognize, with the brasses.
Black not-so-long sleeve shirt, black tie and light purple short pants.
I think it is the contrast between the shirt, pants and the rink, but he looks like as if.... he is not wearing pants but skating just with the shirt and the skates :yikes: He is handsome but it did not look good.
Apparently it was not his day either and he kept messing up not only jumps but spins.

I really liked what I saw of Nakamura's skating last season. He should be back on the JGP for his final season of ISU Junior age-eligibility.

Haruka Imai. Pink tubetop, pink long boots, and pom-poms.
The costume was gorgeous. The program was not so much.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sgFmorCgN0
Imai was 5th at 2010 Four Continents and will make her Grand Prix debut this fall (Canada & France).

Takahashi/Tran. Their new SP.
The music is all strings and I recognise it as one in alcohol advertisement. (I know it is hardly a clue but I cannot remember anything other than that. :o )
I haven't come across a video of T/T yet.

Yuzuru Hanyu. His new SP but arranged for a gala.
The music is Swanlake with Japanese traditional instruments.
in a unitard with black pants, white and black feathery top with some dark purple.
Tried a quad toe but fell. This was least feminine swanlake I have seen. Love it.

Hanyu will make his GP debut this fall (NHK & Russia).

Kanako Murakami. "Be Italian" from Nine the musical. (I think it was from the film soundtrack)
I do not get it. She is still 15 yo. How come they keep giving her these middle-aged women songs?? Last year her ex was Miss Baltimore from Hairspray. It is not like she understands the music, nor they want her to understand.
She is very musical and is a good dancer. Why not giving her something worth chewing over?
BTW she brought a chair and a tambourine. Did not use the chair much but the tambourine a lot. She landed a gorgeous triple-triple somewhere in the show.

Murakami will make her GP debut at NHK and Skate America.

Yasuharu Nanri. He came in with long blonde wig under a silk hat.
It was a medley of his past ex programs (I think) and he kept changing costumes to the music
It was quite funny with a wig, a wrestler, Enka and all.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG1wX9591rk
Nanri has 1 GP (Skate Canada).

Fumie Suguri. Like an arabian princess in blue with a big bra.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW6vtSXVg5A
Suguri has 2 GP assignments (Canada & France).

Tatsuki Machida. Boy he is wonderful.
I did not take note just because I was busy watching him :)
Machida is the 2010 Four Continents silver medalist who will make his Grand Prix debut this fall (China & Russia). His new SP was choreographed by Kenji Miyamoto to "Dark Eyes": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXA9IK6L4Yg

Thank you so much for posting those videos Sylvia! I enjoyed them a lot. Loved Fujisawa, Murakami and Machida. Machida's Dark Eyes really had that :swoon: factor. I'm absolutely excited for his GP debut. He makes me FEEL. Japan has such exciting singles talents.

Sylvia, million thank for the video.:) I impress so much with Machida's program and also found Yuzuru's swan lake to be very interesting, hope he's able to put it together by the time of NHK.

Loved Machida's program! I so hope he has a great GP debut. How I wish Japan had 5 spots for singles at Worlds! :swoon:

I love Hanyu's Swan Lake. I agree, it isn't feminine at all which is nice to see from a male skater doing this type of program.

I don't much care for Machida's program though. Not sure why.

Thanks for the link to Miki as this led me to a different version of Mao's Chopin. Much cleaner jumps here so this must be the third performance:

Wow, Miki's program was amazing! :swoon: I was surprised a lot, I expected a calmer, romantic program - but it was a fiery, modern one! And her spins with new positions were great! :)

Mao was great as usual. :) I'm almost sad this is an EX number, that music would make for a great LP.
