Adeline Canac/Yannick Bonheur -He's an Olympian, she top 10 at Euros, and after a short time together got a respectable 122.05 at Masters

I would love to see these two, I think their past should be a big factor if they skate even though they are new to each other.

:(

Why did she retire?

Didn't seem to survive puberty.

Sammyf - thanks a lot for your summary!

French Fed is being stupid and cruel, not letting their teams a chance to compete at home. It makes me sooooo angry.

Knychenkova/Magyar need a lot of work before they are properly competition ready. Although I guess being thrust in the limelight like this is going to be christening by fire for them.

Thanks for the lists, HisWeirness. I'm beginning to think none of these teams are available (well obviously the grayed ones aren't)- the feds have not been filling the slots when skaters withdraw...It's kind of funny to me that there's been no word on Reed/Japaridze either way.

The Kerrs are scratched out of Cup of Russia :(

:fragile: Tracy Wilson did mention during the CBC commentary for SC that Sinead had dislocated her shoulder. I suppose their withdrawal might have something to do with it?

In Mroz' 4-3 the first jump was underotated more than 1/4 but the judges let him go. Joubert's quad was underotated less than 1/4 but it was downgrated. What is going on here? Again...

Joubert landed on the toe pick and then turned the jump a pretty great deal afterwards-- definitely more than 1/4.

This video, which is supposed to help his cause, does the exact opposite after you watch the slow-motion of the jump. At least it does in my eyes.

So, Skate America, Rostelecom Cup and TEB are scheduled to have just 9 dance couples.

Tibbetts/Brubaker and Guan/Wang could fill in two of the remaining spots (at RUS and TEB), but who knows what will happen.

Once again, please give one of the open spots to Zhiganshina/Gaszi, they deserve it so much!
Unfortunately, Zhiganshina/Gaszi were not on the 2009-10 Season Best list (http://www.isuresults.com/isujsstat/sb2009-10/sbtsdto.htm) and so it is unlikely that they can be picked for a GP assignment.
They would need a host pick.

This is a case where the GP selection & alternate rules need to be changed for next season, IMO.
