Stop trying to make Binshu happen. Binshu is never going to happen. The world has moved on. :P

She was the first one I thought of!

At this rate, I can't really think of anyone they'd use within China. Anyone else in need of an event?

Joshi Helgesson should get another assigment! She is top 24 on the worldranking. People lower than her has got two assigments...

Both Glebova and Joshi are top 24 in the standing and still havent got a 2nd assignment.. ...

And yeah I agree with haribobo. Once someone withdraws the federations likely look at their alternate lists and pick a name and submit it and then oops, turns out said skaters have already retired/split... LOL

Whispers at our rink says Cheltzie was offered Skate America!!!!! :cheer: BUT had to turn it down as no time to prepare as she's just returning to the ice :fragile:

Is it true??? Not sure, couldn't confirm. Would anyone happen to know???

The top 4 Senior ladies in the recent Chinese National GP event (from a thread in the Kiss and Cry forum) were:
1 Kexin ZHANG 黑中心 139.39 1 1 (competed on JGP)
2 Bingwa GENG 齐中心 107.56 3 2 (assigned to Cup of China)
3 Ying Zhang 齐中心 103.83 2 3
4 Qiuying ZHU 黑中心 82.86 4 6 (assigned to Cup of China)

So perhaps China will select Ying Zhang to replace Yan Liu?

I can't confirm but think it could very well be true since Cheltzie's SB score was higher than Gozeva's (44 to 49).

I hate using the term that's not fair, but what is the thinking behind that?

Joshi Helgesson was guaranteed one GP based on her top 24 ranking in the ISU World Standings; she was ranked #45 in the 2009-10 Season's Best scores list. Since she and Elena Glebova (#36 SB) are the top 2 ladies currently with only 1 GP assignment, I think one of them should be invited to Skate America to replace Lepistö even though it would mean traveling and competing in consecutive weeks for Helgesson (China) and Glebova (Russia).

I don't know if the ISU cares so much about having skaters compete back to back events. I mean Min-Jung Kwak was assigned to Skate America initially and then was assigned to Cup of China which is the week before SA, after Yuna withdrew. I assume most skaters would like the chance to compete on the senior GP circuit even if it meant skating back to back events.

Sometimes a skater or team will be replaced by another skater/team from that country (Kwak replacing Kim in China, for example).

I heard they will be replaced by another CAN pair Lawrence-Swiegers
This also is confirmed by Lynn Rutherford's tweet from Skate Canada:

Paige Lawrence and Rudi Swiegers have been invited to Cup of Russia, as substitutes for Dube and Davison.

I feel bad for Dobbs as I think she deserves a 2nd assignment, too bad the 2 open slots can't be for an American lady. It would be nice to see Glebova with a 2nd assignment, she did quite well at SA last season.
