Thank you for clarifying. Another stupid ISU rule in my mind. There should be more flexibility just like in the junior ranks.

As I understand it, the Junior Grand Prix assignments are handed out by the national federations. Here in the U.S., we are actually using early events to determine assignments for later events.

I think the point is to keep people from withdrawing from one event to get another one that they like better.

That, and similarly, skaters avoiding the earlier events because they think they can be better prepared for the later events.

That's why I like that they started rotating the GP events also.

Yeah , the rule is fair for those reasons mentioned. Even in the JGP you see the fields of the later events are much much bigger than the ones in August-September, because everyone wants to skate last..:D

The season has started really really bad for Brezina:( and it was supposed to be his real breakthough year.. hoe he gets well soon.

I want either of Liebers, Hochstein, Bacchini or Berntsson to get a 2nd assignment..:) Ok, Carriere and Nanri too but I dont think they are that deserving this year..

Grand Prix Organizers are selling tickets and need to put up the best show possible every year to satisfy their fans. If the rule says that you have to pick up #67 on the ISU list instead of a top 6 skaters in the world...it is a bad business and sports rule.

Is Shawn still coachless?
Good question. I have no idea what his coaching situation is.

No kidding. I bought a single ticket for Skate Canada instead of the all-event pass because the competitors list isn't all that exciting.

I kind of want Hochstein to get China, but he has SC the weekend before. :/

Plus, re: Brezina-sounds unpleasant. Hoping he recovers quickly!

People were wondering about Artem Borodulin's withdrawal. I heard he had boot problems, switched back to old boots and got injured. Apparently it is some kind of foot injury.

That stinks about Borodulin. He still could be Russia's number one. It's possible even with Gachinski winning everywhere.

Have we ever run out of alternates before? Could well happen!
