I too thought I/B would retire, did retire, they didnt do world or 4C's and they still get GPs
But what about Evan - did he announce retirement?
And Bradley?

No Nagasu, no Abbot in the USA... How can it be possible?

I thought the US Champ always got invited to SA, is it possible Jeremy requested not to assigned to SA?

Last year a number of the national champions (including Jeremy) didn't get invited to SA - although Evan was the world champion at the time. It probably depends on a variety of factors including skaters' preference.

I think I read his webmaster posted on Facebook that he did request SA. That sucks if he got bumped just because they're holding a spot for Evan. I've seen Evan enough times....I wanted to see Jeremy skate in Portland. :(

Alissa was US champ last year and didn't compete at SA. Also, Mirai is not the current US champion. I've been wondering why Alissa ALWAYS gets Skate Canada though? It's like the one competition she always does well at each season

I thought Abbott asked for SA this year.

Rippon gets SA AND SC while Abbott goes overseas twice.

Is Abbott being punished?

His smoothness and lyrical quality just kept me mesmerized. He truly floats over the ice.

Jeremy asked for Russia. Don't know what else he asked for.

Only one GP assignment for Rubleva/Shefer: hopefully they will get that vacant spot at Cup of Russia.

The pairs field looks really boring: I hope that newly formed teams such as Mukhortova/Blanchard, Gerboldt/Enbert and Imaikina/Bezmaternykh get at least one assignment if someone withrdaws.

Surprised to see the Zaretskis and Zadorozhnjuk/Verbillo on the list: didn't these teams announce their retirement?

And Gizmo continuing. :wall:

So does this mean Yannick Ponsero has retired? :( :( :(

Haven't half of them retired?

Those assigments don't mean squat at this stage. I am betting loads of skaters are going to withdraw once it comes to it.

Hopefully not too late for a replacement to be picked.

Praying for Inoue/Baldwin and Pang/Tong to retire (PRETTY PLEASE!!!!).

Over the moon about Gizmo not retiring! Wheeeeee compete forever and ever babe! oxox

Hochstein is too old for the JGP :( I'm incredibly shocked that USFS picked Carriere after his dismal season.

It doesn't make any sense at all. I think Hochstein really got screwed over here.

Who else is scared about the TBA RUS spot on the ladies roster. With Gerboldt now doing pairs I'm not feeling good about it :yikes:

Also, Leonova should be happy that none of the little superstars (Polina A, Polina S, Anna) moved up to the senior GP this season, I'm sorry to say that they are all better than her, or likely will be in the very near future. I think Anna's doing a Chicago program this year so we'll see how it compares to Leonova's (i'm assuming it will be way better).
