From other reports on FSU, Cheltzie seems to be taking the fall international season off to focus on academic exams.

I was told she has no choice as her final HSC exams are looming. Huge deal here in Australia if aspiring for higher learning. (university) She's an A student so I'm sure she'll have no problems. I don't think she'd turn down a grand prix if offered :D

I saw her today for the first time in a few weeks in our rink and she looked great, very fit and tone. Doesn't look injured, I'd say she's still training at one of the many rinks she tends to frequent preparing for nationals in November!

Update:

Sonia Lafuente (ESP) got the open spot at Skate Canada vacated by Laura Lepisto.
Sonia now has 2 GP assignments, Skate Canada and TEB.
http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=2121

Sarah Hecken (GER) has been crossed out of her Skate Canada assignment, probably due to her injury that took her out of Nebelhorn (http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2885136&postcount=613). She is still assigned to TEB.

The replacement for Hecken would come from the same list above (http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?p=2896235&postcount=673), just remove Lafuente.

I don't think she'd turn down a grand prix if offered :D
That's good to know. I find it unusual that with her results last season, she has not been assigned a GP. I hope she can get a GP assignment if she wants one, but if she needs to study that is also important.

Laura is skipping gp too? :( :drama: :wuzrobbed
GPF ladies field should be incredibly weak this year.

Laura Lepisto has withdrawn from Skate Canada. She is still assigned to Skate America.
Laura is still assigned to Skate America. :) Hope she is healed by then.

I must agree! Almost on purpose really or so it seems! What determines whether a country is invited to a senior grand prix? So far the selection for 2nd GP's seem a bit random outside the top skaters!

I'm rooting for Adam Rippon from this season on... I've always loved him (such a sweetie...and a cutie!!!) and his skating, but I think this will be his breakthrough year! *knock on wood* I'm really looking forward to the Grand Prix!

!And for Pete's sake won't someone take a few seconds and visit MKF! There's only 3 people in MK chat! smh Don't let Marylou and her MKMafia scare you off! Yeah, I'm talking to you, Marylou! LOL

Happy Weekend everyone!!!

No one is interested in your shit-stirring, board dragging comments. Second warning: stop it.

I see the Zhangs have been crossed out of both competitions, so no GPF for them, I hope his injury heals soon.

James and Coia are still listed together, I wonder why that hasn't been changed?

Today's GP updates:

Pairs (http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=2125)
Zhang/Zhang (CHN) crossed out of both of their events (CHN and FRA). No subs yet.
This is not a surprise because I believe he is injured and they had to bow out of the Shen/Zhao wedding show last month.

Ladies (http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=2124)
Valentina Marchei (ITA) replaces Sarah Hecken at Skate Canada.
This is her second GP assignment; her initial assignment was to Rostelecom Cup.

My guess is the Chinese host spot will go to Wenting Wang/Yan Zhang a new team that just scored 125.50 at a local comp or a second event for WenJing Sui/Cong Han but then they'd have 2JGP, 2GP, and the JGP Final which is a lot.

Imagine Sui/Han get assigned to the Cup of China and go on to qualify for the senior GPF as well? What would happen? I guess there is no rule that foresees that, but reasonably they probably would pick one Final.
