Dobbs is skating pairs because she herself is not sure about the future as a single skater isn't it?

Is anyone that sure about their future anywhere, really? Your logic in the last few posts is so flawed I'm not even sure it's worth responding to, but as long as you're enjoying yourself recasting Nationals results and dooming futures, who am I to step in your path? Carry on! :D

No one needs to be SURE about Dobbs' future. I'm just saying Gilles is better than Dobbs (in terms of potential competitiveness as a senior skater) and it's a correct decision of the USFSA to hostpick Gilles over Dobbs. All "objections" are based on assumptions like "if she lands 3 flips", "she skates pairs because she enjoys ", so on. I don't really think they are worthy of refuting.

Don't know how to quote from another thread but according to 2 posters in the Artistry on Ice thread (posts 133 and 134) Hao Zhang has broken his finger in a fall and so Zhangs will withdraw from the GP season
If the Zhangs withdraw, their 2 Grand Prix events are China (a 2nd GP for Zhang/Wang, Sui/Han or Dong/Wu?) and France.

The only spot left for GP (pairs) will be "host pick" spot? Any teams that seem to be more likely to get that spot?

There's still one spot for Cheltzie right? I'm still hoping she'll get one!

The only open pairs spot (at this point) is the USA TBA. This pairs spot will most likely go to a USA Pairs team, either a team already on the GP list above with one or no assignment, or a team that is not on the GP list above, who would be a "host pick" because they would not be eligible otherwise to be selected for a GP spot.

There is still one ladies GP spot (http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=2024) available at Rostelecom Cup. It cannot go to a Russian lady.

Well you never know what's going to happen at a nationals. Everyone could fall and she could have made it. Doesn't hurt to try.

That is pretty much what happened in 2006. Best out of a bunch of really crappy programs. Bu tin the end she deserved to go, her 7th place finish was actually impressive-I did not even think she would make top 10.

French Fed appears to have given up their hopes on Gwendoline...not that I'm surprised...allez Lena and Mae!

I'd drop her off the National Team just for the attitude, never mind the dismal competition results.

Isn't Gwendoline the better of the Dider sisters?

Isn't Gwendoline the better of the Dider sisters?

They are not sisters and Candice Didier is a much much better skater. I dunno anything about their rumored attitudes and frankly I dont care , both seem very pleasant girls but will be swept away by the young french girls that are up & coming.

Let's hope with them France gets back on track on the ladies field. Its been soo long since the Bonaly-Hubert-Gusmeroli days..
