Wow, this is my favorite GP update so far! Florent gets his second GP and so do Blanc/Bouquet. Y/C get NHK, so the USA keeps their two SA TBAs for now.

The only thing that would make it better is for Cheltzie to get a spot. :)

Kwak replaced Yuna at Cup of China. Yuna has still not been replaced at Rostelecom Cup. Kwak now has back-to-back GPs in China and then USA.

I agree that it's unusual that JSF did not fill their ladies NHK TBA with a Japanese lady but instead with McCorkell...

Blanc/Bouquet replaced Rubleva/Shefer at NHK and Yankowskas/Coughlin replaced Inoue/Baldwin at NHK.
Kavaguti/Smirnov's vacated spot for Skate Canada has not yet been filled.

Yay! Min-Jung has two assignments now!

:cheer2:

Yay! That makes me happy. If now she only had a place to train...

Very happy for Y&C that they got the Japan event, but disappointed we won't get to see them at SA or SC. However, it's probably better for them to have a week between events, plus that leaves an extra open spot for a young team at SA.

..and gets well through all this changes...

I'm guessing the JSF plans 7 ladies to enter next season's GP (Asada, Ando, Suzuki, Murakami, Imai plus Fujisawa and Nishino). If someone else captures a spot by virtue of seasons best, there won't be enough space. They are not so eager on negotiations as the US federation.

That too. She looked healthy at the ATSS shows though, and happy in all those pics with Yuna from their vacation so hopefully that's good news. Hope she gets through all this ok.

I want Cheltzie to get Yuna's other spot too!

It makes more sense for USFS to not give Yankowskas/Coughlin Skate America since they could get another event. It obviously worked out. Now Y/C has a second event plus USFS still has two SA spots, allowing more US pairs to compete overall (although probably the same amount if I/B hadn't withdrawn). Smart move!

So the Japanese fed elected not to fill their TBA spot in ladies (giving McCorkell the spot)? That's really weird...they have plenty of talented ladies.

That IS schoking, and a big slap in the faces of all their 2nd tier ladies which are all good enought to make the world team in any other country except for USA maybe.:mad:I was rooting for Satsuki Muramoto:(

BTW does France has a another senior dance team they could give the TBA spot now that BLancBouquet got NHK instead??

McCorkell got the same assignments as her hubby Kevin Van Der Perren. How sweet!

That worked well for them at SKAM last year. At least they had each other for consolation.

There has to be some kind of grand prix final points based strategy for that decision to invite McCorkell rather than a Japanese skater.

So, looks like that becomes keeping fingers crossed for Cheltzie, Amanda (SA!) and Amanda and Joseph!
