Beknazarova / Zuevs withdrawl is now official.

Not sure if Mysliyecikova / Novak was on the RUS roster before or now but they are one now :D http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=1970

They replaced Zadorozhnuk/Verbillo (who were originally assigned to Rostelecom) a couple of weeks ago.

Does this mean all TBA spots will need to be announced prior to that date ?

No, the required confirmation is just for the GP assignments that are currently published online.

Thanks Sylvia.
When is the deadline of the TBA spots? Some of them are pretty obvious who will get them, e.g. the Reeds for NHK, Blanc/Bouquet for TEB. Is there a reason not to announce now and wait until deadline?

Not sure. Maybe some federations are waiting to see if their skaters are assigned to first or second assignments by other federations so they could use their TBA spot for another skater/team.

In the case of Japan's Dance TBA, I don't get why the Reeds haven't been assigned there yet because it is not like Japan has another senior dance team.

I think TBA spots don't need to be announced until the 14-day deadline but most feds will announce them well before that.

It is mandatory that a Organizing Member replaces any skater/couple who withdraws from the event with an
alternate up to fourteen (14) days prior to the draw for that event. At the seven day mark, consideration will
be given by the ISU Grand Prix Coordination Group to leaving a position vacant because of visa
requirements or unduly high travel costs that would be incurred by the Organizing Member.

Rubleva/Shefer's assignments are NHK (#1) and TEB (#6).
According to this post (http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?p=2837817&postcount=378), they have announced their retirement. So potentially two GP spots have opened up, one at NHK and one at TEB.

GP Pairs Roster Update

Iliushechkina/Maisuradze (RUS) have been assigned to a second GP, Skate Canada. Their first GP assignment was to Cup of China.
http://isu.sportcentric.net/db//files/serve.php?id=1972

They replace Zhang/Wang (CHN), who were originally assigned to NHK and Skate Canada back-to-back.
Now Zhang/Wang are only assigned to NHK.

I wonder if the Chinese Fed. is going to move Zhang/Wang to their open TBA Cup of China spot so Zhang/Wang do not need to travel outside Asia and have a week break in between their GPs?

Of course, this means that Iliushechkina/Maisuradze (RUS) are now assigned to back-to-back (consecutive) GPs, one in Canada and then one in China.

That's really weird. I thought the rules were that if you withdrew from one assignment you couldn't get a different one (so that Zhang/Wang couldn't get Cup of China now)? I guess we'll see.

Maybe the 2 feds had simlutaneously assigned them the second one ;)
