Chicharrito :cheer: I'm glad mexico scored; and he is a really good player
I'm just waiting for Rafa Marquez to take off his shirt :grope:
Congratulations to Argentina! :cheer2: But if they play the last 30 minutes of their coming game with Germany the same way they played here against Mexico, the Germans will torture them! Argentina really sloooowed down towards the end of this game. I also want to add I am not a fan of pulling out the best scorers during the knock out phase of the competition. I was not happy to see Suarez go, nor Klose, and neither Tevez.

Heinze cheering for Tevez's goal, then getting really pissed at the camera man for wanting to be part of the celebrations!

I tend to agree with you, I guess they do this to protect crucial players from injury and make sure they don't get overtired, Klose is not a baby anymore they need him fresh. On the other hand it irks me even more when the scores aren't favorable to a team and the coach replaces the strikers during the last 20 minutes of the game (or even later), what on earth do they think they'll do? There's a reason for them to be on the bench in the first place ... Sometimes the surprise/fresh pair of legs factor works, but it annoys me.

Apparently there is a board that decides about rule changes. There are eight member on the panel, four of them are from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Even though three of them do not play a huge role in world football at the moment, they stay on the panel because they are the founding members. The members are all ancient, they are traditionalists. For a rule change they need six votes. So that's why...

On the BBC they're really playing the disallowed goal down, because overall, not just today but the whole world cup, we've been awful, and we didn't deserve to win today.
Interesting how they mentioned that today when England has gone out. They sure weren't singing from that hymn sheet during the group stages. ;)
Anyway, time for a new thread.
