So Germany it is on Sunday - I just LOVE this one. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/24/world-cup-octopus-pauls-p_n_624597.html) Norwegian TV showed a clip of it, and it was .

I've not seen Switzerland play this WC. Are they boring or methodical or ... what makes Georgina describe the team that way? (Besides being tied late with a hapless team like Honduras)

I only saw them against Spain, and ALL they did was defend for about 92 minutes, and manage to score in the other minute. I guess that's what counts, but there wasn't one single moment of creativity, spontaneity or aambition, AT ALL.

How they beat Spain will forever remain a mystery...

How they beat Spain will forever remain a mystery...

It's been 6 years and I still can't understand how Greece became Euro champs! :wall:
I don't know about the Swiss and their style of play, because I couldn't watch them either, but judging from the coach, I think I am getting an idea...:scream:

Anyway, beautiful first goal for Spain from Villa, one of the best so far...:swoon: And Spain now has good chances of getting to the semis IF they pass through Portugal. In that case they'll meet the winner of Paraguay-Japan, which should be (on paper) totally doable.

What makes it even more spicy - he's a natural-born English-octopus! Not very patriotic ... ;)

I spent almost all Spain-Chile waiting in a Information queue in Barajas (Madrid) Airport, just returned from Germany, cause there were heavy flight delays, anyway we could follow perfectly the match cause people were chanting goals and Huys! to lost opportunities and Chile chances. It was the funniest part of the day, considering that I got home at 4:30 AM :coffee:

ETA: I did quite well with my bets, but for Italy, that they couldnīt pass first round was really shocking  Now is the final rounds, the fun is really here!

Uruguay players celebrate by rolling around in the ground together....wish Forlan would join in :grope:

That was really weak defensive play from South-Korea. Furlan is great, but man, what were they doing??

06-26-2010, 03:17 PM
The keeper played "statue" part and the defenders were really static but :cheer: Uruguay!

The pitch is terrible. How did it get this bad? :(

South-Korea comes out with all guns blazing the first minutes of the 2nd half. I love the way they are playing football! :cheer2:

You would think it was Italy out there now and not Uruguay. There is only play on one half now. I really hope South Korea scores soon. They have been great so far!

S. Korea has equalized! Poor Uruguay.... :(

They had it coming. They have been incredibly weak in the 2nd half! S.K has been very good! :cheer2:

YAY for South-Korea. They play honest football. No filming or stupid diving (I am looking at you, Torres!)

At least it has force Uruguay into attacking mode again. I want a result here, hopefully for Uruguay, and no penalty kicks. My nerves would not be able to stand it. LOL
