Uh-oh I need to take that back, they are talking about futbol on tv but not being positive at all. It is one lone fan against 3 doubters. Who are beating up on the sport while this guy defend it. Poor man! LOL

Beating up the sport? How can you beat up the sport? I mean, isn't it up to everyone's taste what to like and what not? I don't don't watch football, don't understand baseball yet I wouldn't beat up the sport. Oh, well...

I knew something exciting had happened, because I just heard a huge cheer from the cafe a block away that's been showing the World Cup. My windows aren't even open! :P
It wasn't me making that noise. I was was stunned into silence. I then waited for the goal to be disallowed. I started believing after the ensuing kickoff.

NJL (...For those that thought the 1st 90 minutes were boring - you just don't get it....;).... It was the lack of any goals from sooooo many attempts that made the goal exquisite. You needed to suffer through it all to really enjoy the end result......)

Maybe one of the Americans here can explain to me why the US is referred to by the ESPN commentators as "Team USA" and not just the USA like all other countries are referenced i.e. England, Brasil, Italy, the Ivory Coast etc. It just strikes me as weird and unusual.

Heh, Lorac, I'm thinking that you've just latched onto that thought, and it's "in your craw" so to speak.

OMG! Slovakia scores again!!! Italy and France last in their groups - who would have thought?

My neighbors cheered like crazy when Slovakia scored. There are so many people here that detest Italy. :P

If this had been the USA, I would not say it was over because they show a fighting spirit like no one else, but not Italy. This is over!!!

2-0 to Slovakia - this is going to be historic:encore: Both finalists from 4 years ago out at the group stages in 2010

Oh - Italy pull one back - and what a mess in that net!!

Italy scores!

And a brawl is about to break out in the goal!

After the goal, why did the Italian dude charge the net and body-check the Slovakian goalie? That's dirty shit.
