^I think Uruguay looked really good against SA; so did Mexico tonight,, but both had weak oppositon (IMO) so it might be hard to tell; their match OUGHT to be a cracker.

Oh I get it. I love soccer and conversely know nothing/couldn't care less about baseball and American football and other favorites in NA.

However, I can still appreciate a nice piece of snark! :)
Oh, I love snark - but only if it is well written and really funny, which I didn't think this was. I think it could gave been written 4, 8, 12 etc years ago, except for the vuvuezla points obviously. It's just getting old. :barrel

Maradona - what an utter nutcase! "I apologize to Platini, but not to Pelé". :rofl:

Agreed with 5 and nothing else :P. Saw Argentina today and boy they really need to tone down on the acting. Some Argentines were rolling on the ground for 5 min. when we saw clear as day on the replay that the Koreans didn't even touch them. Beautiful game BTW. Messi is God and Maradona looks like a cute Russian doll :rofl:

Oh, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the universal bashing of Chinese national team on Sina when the other Asian teams were doing so well. After :o in 2002 and :rolleyes: in 2008 and all the scandals, who follows Chinese soccer any more? :lol:

USA vs. Slovenia is going to be intense tomorrow. I just hope I can smoothen out all the finger nails on my cheeks before going to work. Go USA :kickass:

Suspicions are that China will bid for the 2026 WC and if they do hosting the tournament will do a lot to boost the sport in China. In India they are hoping to finish in the top 10 at the Asia Cup next which will give them games against countries like South Korea and Japan. So I have high hopes that football will as yet conquer all of Asia including China and India! :D (call me an eternal optimist... )

The amount of people wearing sombreros in the city centre this evening was :eek:. And I can say definitively that none of those people were Mexican. :lol:

I think "Anyone but France" sums up the World Cup mood here in Ireland. ;)

BTW everyone, Maradonna wants the world to know that he loves the team very much but prefers women. His girlfriend's name is Veronica and she is blonde and 31. hehehehe

Mexico rocked, and deserved the victory! :encore:
The French team looked like it has no desire to play whatsoever, therefore I'm not surprised they lost the game. :(

Mexico => :respec:

France => {{{hugs}}}

David Henry Sterry of the Huffingtonpost gives his impressions of some his favourite teams in the World Cup. He has since writing this been proven a bit off about Greece however... But still worth the read.

I can't believe he is only 49!:eek:

The Louis Vuitton site has an ad campaign with Maradona, Pele, and Zidane- must have been pretty stifling at the photo shoot with all their egos taking up that space!:lol:

NYTimes article on Gonzalo Higuain. Quite a nice piece which says France want him to play for them and his father urged him to play for Le Bleu but Higuain said no. Cute :)

Germany vs Serbia is about to begin. Germany judging from their last games, they should not have too much trouble with Serbia. BUt you never know with this sport. Should be very interesting.

Fcuk me. Klose gets two yellows and is out, so Germany's a man down. Serbia scores almost immediately following.

:wall: C'mon, Deutschland!

You can say that again - card happy ref means Germany are down to 10 men - and Serbia took swift advantage of that!!! I agree with the ESPN commentators - the ref is booking for any foul and that's not the way it's suppose to work!!

Agreed. It's been a physical game but the ref is awful.

Argh, Kedira's shot hits the top post :duh:
