Whee, Paraguay!!! I know nothing about this team, but ...
Pretty Roque Santa Cruz plays for them ... and that's the extent of my knowledge, now, too :D

I badly wish I could watch this game! Stupid work getting in the way of life yet AGAIN :duh:

Ah, we get Camoranesi after all. ;) I have no idea what the Finnish commentator was talking about earlier.

I don't understand all the technical aspects of soccer/football so what I don't get is all the lavishing of compliments to the Paraguay team when I only got to see Buffon a few times and would barely recognize the 2nd Italian GK, yet I know the Paraguay GK's face very well. I would concede that they must have played great defense but the commentators at ESPN after the game were saying the strikers from the Paraguay team did a great job.

Well, part of it comes from the fact that Italy is the reigning World Champion, and has another 3 World championships to his name. Paraguay has only been 6 times at the World Championships, and has never gone farther than the round prior to the quarterfinals (1998 and 2002).
So, for them, a tie against Italy is a good result, much more so because it wasn't nil to nil.
And yes, I know they have beat Argentina in the past, but that's a bit different, we play against each other much more often, we know each other's weaknesses.

My eyes will be glued to the tv tomorrow for the Portugal vs Ivory Coast and Brazil vs North Korea games! I can hardly wait! :cheer2: Is there any word yet from FIFA on whether or not Drogba will be allowed to play with a protective cast on?

How to reduce the sound of the vuvuzelas on your TV (http://www.98fm.com/news-sport/news/no-more-noise164943/)

Don't know if the above works, but the frustrated might like to give it a try. ;)

Don't know if the above works, but the frustrated might like to give it a try. ;)It's been a really hectic few days and we finally got a chance to sit down and watch the World Cup -Ned vs Den - I thought the sound equipment at the stadium was malfunctioning, or maybe we Canadians got the cheap seats in front of the air handling system, or something.

Are they always continuously this loud! Even my sports loving son asked me to turn it off. The commentators are almost drowned out by droning.
