SBS just broadcast the news. She sent an entry for the next season's GP series to ISU through KSU at 14th this month.

She will be moving to Toronto for training w/ her new physical trainer, so that indicates hard training according to the news.

She will make a final decision after discussing enough with Brian and David.

Minjung is not staying in Junior, and going to make a senior GP series debut this season.

Today, 18 May 2010 in Seoul, Korea, SBS reported the article (http://sports.media.daum.net/general/news/moresports/breaking/view.html?cateid=1076&newsid=20100518205105664&p=sbsi) in the prime time news.

Brief translation.

It was known that Yu-Na Kim made an application to take part in GP Series 2010-2011 to ISU via KSF on May 14.

She may continue her career in competitions.
Yu-Na Kim will leave for Canada the 31st current with a new trainer and it means team Yu-Na is planning a hard work.

Yu-Na will decide her career path after a full discussion with Brian Orser and David Wilson.

And Min-Jung Kwak selected Senior circuit to compete.

ETA: But, some minutes later. One, KSF concerned, said "The application was issued by KSF as usual not by Yu-Na Kim because she still haven't made up her mind."

:duh: Fxxxing Federation... Sorry dude..

To, Admin. Merge this thread with riveredge's plz. Thank you in advance. ;)

I think they're trying to be careful. You cannot submit the form without the skater's agreement, correct me if I'm wrong.

Really? I have to check rule books again. And that's why I've criticized the federation. :(

I won't be surprised if KSF will be in hot water again, spreading the news without thinking about the implication.

It's all over the news now.

Hmm, KSF may did things as below.

"First, fill the application please.."

"Thank you for your corporation. and Let us know if you DO NOT agree to submit the form until 14, May. If not we will send it to ISU. Period."

Do skaters hire new physical trainers when they retire from competition and start a show career?

I'm afraid this is a bad news for certain group of people.

The following was posted on April 26 in the Grand Prix 2010-11 Pre-announcement thread (http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=2744545&postcount=33) in Kiss and Cry (I bolded the sentence below):

From what I have heard, the current status is the following.

All national Federations whose skaters qualified for guaranteed events (1 or 2) are requested to inform the ISU about: 1) who of their qualified skaters will compete in the SGP next season and who will not compete (retired, split, misses the season, etc) and 2) who will stay in Juniors and who will move to seniors.

The Federations are supposed to send this information to the ISU by mid May. After that the lists will be cleaned and will include only those who will compete in SGP (now the lists include everybody who qualified e.g. belbin/Agosto, Domnina/Shabalin, etc but it's the responsibility of the National Federation to officially announce who retired, split, etc).
So it's not really "news" that KSF submitted Yu-Na Kim's name for the Senior GP since it appears she hasn't yet decided what her plans are for 2010-11.

OK everybody, let's relax. It's just required paperwork. It's only an issue if we make it one.

Possibly. However, SBS News mentioned that she will be moving to Toronto for training w/ her new physical trainer. Hmmmm. And that she will make a final decision after discussing enough with Brian and David.

Of course Yuna is not talking. We'll wait and see. :hat1:

You do know threads can be merged, people. ;)

This (Yu-Na submitting an application) does not mean anything.

It's a simple formality.

She can still choose to withdraw and be replaced.
