V/T, K/S, M/B, G/E, Iliushechkina/ Maisuradze, Bazarova/ Larionov, Stolbova/ Klimov ( who according to the reports are also very promising)
That's 7, which is just crazy.

I wish M/B could skate for France, they might have more chance to be supported there.

Russian nationals for Pairs will be a bloodbath for spots on the Euro and World teams.
I thought Pisiev (sp) just chose who he wanted on the European and World teams regardless of the placement at Nationals? Or do the FSU rumors have him telling the National judges how to score the pairs so they fall in the order he wants. ??

Are you from the U.S? Lol. :D

(Note: I am from the U.S.)

You know, we haven't seen any of these new pairs skate yet, but I tend to believe that any of the new three: V/T, G/E, or M/B could win the US National title somewhat easily. :shuffle:

In 2009 (for 2010) Plushenko and Voronov came in first and second at Russian nationals so both were sent to Euros. Plushenko won and was sent to the olympics -Voronov bombed so he did not get to go to the Olympics and Borodulin was sent. I think whoever comes in first second and third in Russian nationals will go to Euros but if a team bombs or places below expectation than they might not go to worlds.

ok that makes sense. So he uses the results from both Nationals and Europeans to determine the best World team?

Apparently not. She's reportedly still around 140 cm ( 4'7"-4'8"), even though she's 14. Maybe she'll just have a really late growthspurt or end up really tiny even when she's all grown up. I have no idea what her parents look like, but maybe they are really tiny as well?

Yes, her both parents are reportedly short, but not as tiny as she is... Maybe she will grow later, but I guess she will still be tiny

Her feet look really big for her body, so hopefully she will grow soon. That being said, she's not all arms and legs like a lot of girls that age, so her growthspurt might not be a very big one and she might just have big feet. I just hope she doesn't have an eating disorder or something like that.

Agafonova's ISU bio has been recently updated and it now says she is 145 cm so she did grow a little!

That's what it seemed like last season.

I just saw the Menshov is now scheduled for Cup of Russia. Good for him. at 27!

I guess the second pairs test skate is going on right now. Good things said about Bazarova/Larionov; Mukhortova/Blanchard are at this one, doing elements, but not the actual program since it's not ready yet; Gerboldt/Enbert are having some difficulties (her) with jumps and pairs elements; Volosozhar/trankov didn't do their full programs either it seems; and I guess Iliushechkina/Maizuradze were having a rough time with it.

Thanks for the info. It's mucho appreciated. :)

:( about I&M. They're a lovely team, but they'll probably end up swept to the wayside what with all of the new and the strong returning teams in the Russian field.
I hate to assume, but I'm guessing their problems were the jumps.

I'm glad B&L are looking good. I hope she's gained some weight/muscle. It'll only help her jumps and power.

(Keep in mind I'm not a native speaker, so may have misunderstood some of the comments posted as well! That's why I'm not sure why V/T didn't do their full program)

Supposedly B&L had Gorshkov on his feet, even though they reportedly had a few "small" errors.
