Any news? Did Sotnikova and Tuktamysheva skate? I am so curious about these two skaters.

Sotnikova did not skate (she was sick recently may be because of the heat/air conditioning situation). I heard that many people in Moscow are sick now because of this unusual heat.

Tuktamysheva is suposed to skate in St.Petersburg Friday/Saturday.

SUN, thank you for the info. Do you know how other Moscow based skaters like Ovcharova & Shelepen did, and what elements they completed?

Thank you. :)

Unfortunately, I do not know what they did and how.
Ovcharova did not skate either (same reason as Sotnikova-hey train together in the same group).
BTW, I found the interesting video of Konnstantin Menshov doing 4S, 4L and attempt of 4T/4T combo (second 4t is underotated). Do not know if the link below for this video will work.

Those are impressive jumps! I'm happy things are improving in Russia.

I thought Anna was still in Latvia for summer training?

Holy  at the quad loop!

Ditto! And a 4T-4T combo, even with the second so underrotated, pretty amazing to be even trying that combo and not landing on his butt!

And he is 27 now. I don't know when that video was taken exactly. That loop jump is something to watch! He just revolves so fast. And I liked the girl looking back and getting out of his way. LOL.

Thank you so much for the information!
Do you know about other Moscow based male skaters? Did Voronov skate?
I heard that Voronov joined the N. Morozov's group, but according to Cathy & Chris Reed's blog, his group are moving to Latvia because of the smog and heat wave.

I can't wait to see their new programs.
Uspenski brothers, I'm curious about them, too.
Is Alexander's foot injury getting better?

Summarizing test skates for Russian ladies (a part of them were held in Moscow and the other part in Sankt-Petersbourg):

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva skated her new short programm in Sankt-Petersbourg today. She did a 3Lz+2T (planned 3-3?), clean 2A and a clean 3Lo. She seemed to be a little tired at the end of the programm, but overall in a very good form. She will skate her free programm tomorrow (she keeps it from the last season)

Adelina Sotnikova is reportedly sick – just caught a cold from the heat–conditionning situation, high temperature 39C, etc. So she didn't take part in the test skates at all.

Polina Agafonova skated her short programm, which she keeps from the last season, today in St.Petersbourg. She's in an OK form, jumps are not so solid as mid-season, but ok overall. She didn't grow up at all (which starts to be a little bit worrying: 140cm at 14 years old...)She seemed to have received a lot of feedback from the technical panel (not sure what was it about). She will show her free programm tomorrow.

Polina Shelepen skated her programms in Novogorsk, near Moscow on the 11th and 12th of August. She seems at her best form, jumped a clean 3-3.

Anna Ovcharova didn't debut her programms during the summer (although she was supposed to), and also didn't show up at test skates. She is reported to have some (minor) injury and pain in her toes, which prevents her doing toe picking jumps, such as flips, lutzes and toe loops. For Courchevel she will be replaced by Roza Sheveleva. Not sure if Anna will go to Brasov instead (she's listed as a replacement), and replace (switch with) Sheveleva there.

Roza Sheveleva reportedly rocked the house during the test skates in Novogorsk, near Moscow on the 11th-12th of August. She's keeping both of her programms. She will skate in Courchevel instead of Anna (see above), and if Anna will not recover until then – gets to skate in Brasov immediately afterwards.

Sofia Biriukova didn't do so well at test skates in Novogorsk near Moscow (11th/12th). She's reported to have gained some weight and not stand on her jumps. I still hope she will get JGP assignments –*according to the results of the last season, she certainly deserves two!

Kristina Zaseeva did ok at test skates in Moscow. She fell down on her combination, and showed some underrotated jumps. She is considered for one JGP assignment. I suppose it is still unclear if she will get one.

Maria Artemieva looked beautiful and showed nice choreography and spins at the test skates in St.Petersbourg today. The music seems to be taken from one of Kiira Korpi programms. She grew up quite a bit though, and didn't stand on her jumps. I think she is considered for the home GP spot, since Gozeva and Kozyreva were not taking part in the test skates at all.

Thank you for the reports! Nice to see that Shelepen and Tuktamysheva are in good for since her JGP is soon, and that Sheveleva has progressed so well. She's a lovely skater. I'm excited to see her this season!

Shame about Biryukova - I like her :(
