Golden Skate has just done an article on Ilinykh and Katsalapov.
Here's a separate thread that was started for the I/K article: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=73732

Thanks, Eislauffan!

I posted this in the JGP thread, but I'll repost it here.

3 Junior dance teams have split:
Tatyana Baturintseva/Ivan Volobuiev (J9)
Valeria Starigina/Nikolai Moroshkin (J10)
Evgenia Kosigina/Sergey Mozgov (J12)

Starigina/Volobuiev have paired up. Mozgov has gone to the US and will be skating with Angelina Kabysheva. They will be coached by Platov.

Yes, and apparently Moroshkin has teamed up with Kosigina now. Baturintseva was skating with another guy (Filip Derzhanski???) when I was at their rink, but it was still trial period and not a done deal. At least he is tall enough for her.

AFAIK, Mozgov is back from USA and is paired with Baturintseva.

Ooooh. Interesting. I'm sad Baturintseva & Volobuiev had to split, since I loved them together, but she was getting too tall for him.

Eislauffan, thank you very much for your lots of report from Russia!!

Did you hear any news about Nikolai Morozov team in Moscow?
According to your post, Morozov and his skaters will be in Moscow already.
(I think Miki will be there too!)

I would like to know their home rink and....which skater are there....!

I thought Miki was staying in Japan this summer to finish her schoolwork and then moving to Russia in the fall?

Yes, but she requires only two credits to graduate.
It will be not so hard work ;) submitting one or two essays is enough.

According to the blog of Miki's favorite shop, she said she will go to
Russia from May 16.
So I think she is in Moscow now.

There was information a couple of months ago that Nikolai Morozov was going to be a senior coach at Moskvich ice-rink (Victor Kudryavtsev works there). Yesterday I learnt that he will work at Mechta (Dream) ice-rink (Svinin and Zhuk work there too)

Oh! I forgot Miki had joined SOI tour until last weekend :duh:
She's going to Korea for the show this week, so maybe she will go to Russia after that.

IRIS1975, thanks for your information:)
Most of my favorite skaters trains under Morozov, so I hope they'll have a good home rink.

I meant in the winter . Miki looks good in pretty much everything though, except her horrible skating costumes.

The Russian Figure Skating Federation is to appoint former champion Anton Sikharulidze as its head, RIA Novosti news agency reported (today) Wednesday. The election for a new federation chief is set on Friday, as the former head Valentin Piseev gave up the idea to run for another term.
